SAFETY AND PEACE

During the month, the political security situation and social order and safety in the area were basically stable, with no complicated incidents occurring; maintaining peace for people to enjoy Spring, celebrate traditional New Year and major holidays.

The armed forces strictly maintain combat readiness, coordinate to grasp the situation, ensure security and order; proactively detect, advise on handling, and prevent security and order complications from occurring.

The authorities launched and implemented synchronous measures to prevent, combat, track down, and strictly handle all types of crimes and social evils such as: Crimes violating economic and environmental management order, detecting and handling 569 cases, 682 subjects, seizing more than 40kg of explosives, 706kg of firecrackers, and many types of goods of unknown origin.

Regarding corruption crimes, the authorities discovered 2 new cases and 2 suspects. Specifically, Ky Son District Police arrested and prosecuted a case, indicting 1 defendant, former Principal of Bao Nam Commune Kindergarten, for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties". Quynh Luu District Police arrested 1 case and 1 suspect, former judicial officer of Quynh Thanh Commune, for the crime of "Abusing position and power to appropriate property".

The authorities discovered 10 cases and 68 criminals using high technology. They discovered 72 drug-related crimes and arrested 110 people, confiscating 114 grams of heroin, 8.1 kilograms and 52,119 synthetic drug pills, 3 kilograms of crystal meth, and 165 grams of marijuana.

Investigation, prosecution, and trial of cases continue to be focused on by the prosecution agencies. Sectors within the Internal Affairs sector have actively implemented the sector's 2024 work program.

Party committees and authorities at all levels have paid attention to the work of receiving people, handling petitions, complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections from citizens according to regulations, especially the complaints of households related to compensation and site clearance for National Highway 1A.

The work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, trade in counterfeit, banned and poor quality goods, and food hygiene and safety has been promoted; the enforcement of civil judgments has seen many positive changes; measures for fire prevention, fighting, search and rescue have been promptly deployed.

EFFECTIVELY SOLVE COMPLEX PROBLEMS FROM THE BASIS, DON'T BE PASSIVE OR SURPRISED

In March 2024, the Provincial Party Standing Committee requested the armed forces to maintain combat readiness; coordinate with local authorities to organize patrols and controls to protect border and island sovereignty, ensure national security, and social order and safety in the area.

Strengthening the work of grasping the situation, ensuring security in all fields; ensuring absolute safety for important events of the province, high-ranking delegations of the Party, State, and international guests visiting and working in Nghe An.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee also requested to continue handling and resolving complex, outstanding issues that are of public concern; focus on effectively handling and resolving complex issues right from the grassroots level, avoiding being passive or surprised.

Strengthen the fight against and suppress all types of crimes and law violations, especially crimes against social order, economic and environmental crimes, drug crimes, gambling, high-tech crimes, etc.; strengthen market management; promptly coordinate and strictly handle acts of transporting and trading in counterfeit and poor-quality goods and violating food hygiene and safety, etc.

Coordinate and effectively implement the work of detecting, transferring, receiving, classifying, and handling crime reports and denunciations, recommending prosecution, arrest, and investigation and handling of crimes... Strengthen the work of detecting and handling corruption and negativity through inspection, supervision, investigation, and handling of denunciations and information about crimes; strengthen the recovery of lost and misappropriated assets in corruption, economic, and negativity cases.

Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to perform well in receiving citizens, having direct dialogue with citizens and handling citizens' feedback and recommendations according to regulations.
