At the National Monument - Memorial Site of General Secretary Le Hong Phong, located in Hong Phong hamlet, Hung Thong commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai and leaders of the Central and Nghe An provinces respectfully offered the most fragrant flower baskets, incense sticks and expressed deep gratitude for the contributions and condolences to General Secretary Le Hong Phong - the second General Secretary of the Party.

Comrade Le Hong Phong's real name is Le Huy Doan, born in 1902, in Thong Lang commune (now Hung Thong commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province), in a working-class farmer family, was a steadfast, dynamic, creative communist, loyal to the country, and devoted to the people.
As the person who presided over the Party's work during the revolutionary recession in the early 1930s, comrade Le Hong Phong, together with the Central Committee, carried out a series of meticulous, persistent, and creative tasks to restore the Party, restore the revolutionary movement, and maintain the fighting spirit of the people. Among them, the proposal of the Action Program and the establishment of the Party's External Command Committee were two events of primary importance.

Comrade Le Hong Phong is also an example of an enthusiastic international revolutionary activist, skillfully combining true patriotism with pure proletarian internationalism.

With 40 years of age and more than 20 years of revolutionary activities, comrade Le Hong Phong is an outstanding leader of our Party, State and People; an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh; a steadfast soldier of the international communist and workers' movement; an excellent son of Nghe An. General Secretary Le Hong Phong devoted his whole life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the People; always putting the interests of the revolution above the interests of his own life and family happiness.

On the same afternoon, comrade Truong Thi Mai and the delegation went to Truong Bon National Historical Relic Site in My Son Commune (Do Luong District) to respectfully offer flowers and incense to express their respect, admiration and deep gratitude to the outstanding children who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Truong Bon is a sacred land, a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism, where the blood of comrades and compatriots was shed in the long march to liberate the nation.
This “fire coordinate” in the resistance war against America is where the fiery footsteps of hundreds of thousands of young men who fought their way through Truong Son to save the country were imprinted; young men and women who brought their eighteen and twenty years of age into war, fire and bullets, they entered danger with all their optimism, desire to live and responsibility for the country.

1,240 outstanding sons fell on the legendary road, typically the heroic sacrifice of 13 youth volunteers of Company 317 on October 31, 1968.
