DNO - On the afternoon of January 22, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City's National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Van Quang, Head of the Steering Committee for the implementation of Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly on the organization of urban government and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city, chaired a meeting of the steering committee to listen to and give opinions on a number of tasks that need to be focused on in the coming time.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Chairman of the City People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang, Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Le Van Trung, and Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Ho Ky Minh attended the meeting.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang commended the efforts of departments, branches and sectors in implementing the specific mechanisms and policies of Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15; at the same time, requested departments, branches and sectors to urgently implement the mechanisms and policies issued by the City People's Council; review and ensure the progress of drafting 7 resolutions to be submitted to the City People's Council for approval in the coming time.

Along with that, absorb the spirit and new content of a number of guidelines, orientations and policies of the Central Government; draft the content of amending and adjusting the city's planning to build and develop functional areas in the Da Nang Free Trade Zone.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee highly appreciated the proposals of the Department of Industry and Trade, departments, branches and consulting units after learning from the experience of the free trade zone in the UAE, but it is necessary to focus on perfecting the content of the draft decision of the Prime Minister on the Project to establish the Da Nang Free Trade Zone in the direction that after the Prime Minister issues the decision, it can be implemented immediately.

The Party Committee of the City People's Committee needs to direct departments, branches and sectors to prepare all conditions and tasks such as adjusting the City's General Planning; investigating, surveying, measuring, counting, verifying the origin of land and assets attached to land to serve the site clearance for the construction of functional areas in the Da Nang Free Trade Zone; preparing infrastructure projects connecting the above functional areas and estimating resources for implementation...

“All of these things must be prepared in parallel with the completion of the Project to establish the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, so that when the Prime Minister signs the decision to issue the project, the city can immediately implement it,” the Secretary of the City Party Committee requested.

The Secretary of the City Party Committee also gave some opinions on the content of the draft decision and project as well as suggested that departments, branches, sectors and consulting units supplement and encourage research and training in industries in need such as semiconductors, high-tech industry...; controlled testing in the Da Nang Free Trade Zone; supplement "Free port" services in free trade zones associated with airports and seaports like Singapore...

In addition to reviewing and completing the content of the Prime Minister's draft decision on the Project to establish the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, the Secretary of the City Party Committee requested relevant departments, branches and sectors to coordinate with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to propose meetings to unify the content to submit to the Prime Minister.

Departments, branches and sectors also prepare contents related to public investment to identify projects needing support from the Central Government to report and seek opinions from the Prime Minister.
