Thuan An stops construction of two renovation packages for the longest canal in Ho Chi Minh City

Thuan An Company was asked to clarify the possibility of continuing the bidding package for the Tham Luong - Ben Cat canal renovation project because this unit stopped construction after the leader was arrested.

The content has just been sent by the HCM City Urban Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board (investor) to Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company regarding the contract implementation status in construction packages No. 5 and 6, belonging to the project of infrastructure construction and environmental improvement of Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal.

In the above two packages, Thuan An as a member of the consortium participated in the construction with the total contract value of this unit undertaking about 130 billion VND. In which, package No. 5 (section from Tan Ky - Tan Quy bridge to Bung bridge) is more than 3 km long, Thuan An is a member of the consortium with 5 other companies. The above enterprise undertakes the construction of traffic roads, technical infrastructure (except for trees, lighting) on ​​the right bank of the canal with about 77.5 billion VND, equivalent to 13.8% of the contract value.

In package No. 6 (section from Bung bridge to Tham Luong bridge) 2.8 km long, Thuan An is also a member of a consortium with 4 other companies. This unit carries out the construction of traffic roads, technical infrastructure (except trees, lighting) on ​​the right bank, worth more than 53 billion VND, accounting for about 11.7% of the contract.

According to the investor, after inspecting the construction sites of the above packages and the consultant's report, Thuan An Company has stopped construction. The command staff, workers... are not on the construction site. Therefore, in order not to affect the progress, the investor requires Thuan An to issue a document clarifying the possibility of continuing the construction contracts of the two above packages, clearly stating the company's organizational structure, the replacement legal representative... These contents must be sent to the investor before April 25, otherwise it will be considered a breach of contract.

Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Rach Nuoc Len is the longest canal in Ho Chi Minh City with nearly 32 km, passing through 7 districts in the city, including: 12, Binh Tan, Tan Phu, Tan Binh, Go Vap, Binh Thanh and Binh Chanh. The canal renovation project started a year ago, with a total capital of 8,200 billion VND from the state budget.

Thuan An Group Joint Stock Company, headquartered on Pham Hung Street, Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi, was established in 2004, with Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung as chairman. Mr. Hung was recently arrested for Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences and Bribery, according to Clause 3, Article 222 and Clause 4, Article 364 of the Penal Code.

Thuan An operates in the fields of investment, construction of technical infrastructure, electricity trading, renewable energy, and real estate. In recent years, Thuan An has won dozens of construction contracts nationwide. In Ho Chi Minh City, in addition to the Tham Luong - Ben Cat - Nuoc Len canal renovation project, this enterprise also participated in a number of contracts under the Ring Road 3 project, the underpass at the Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Huu Tho intersection.
