Nguyen Manh Hung, a student at Trung Vuong High School in Hung Yen Province, is the top scorer in the A00 group nationwide in the 2023 high school graduation exam with a score of 29.35. Specifically, Hung's scores for the A00 subjects are: math 9.6 points; chemistry 9.75 points; physics 10 points.
Manh Hung said he was very surprised when he learned that he was the top student in the A00 group nationwide. Immediately after knowing his exam results, Hung received many congratulations from his family, teachers, and friends for this achievement.
“After finishing the exam, comparing with the answers from the Ministry of Education and Training, I estimated my score to be 29, but I didn't think I would become the national valedictorian of this group,” Manh Hung shared.

Achieving high scores in the A00 block, Manh Hung modestly said that he does not have any special study secrets. In order to review all subjects, Hung divides his time for each subject to ensure that all subjects are reviewed, in which Hung spends more time on the main subjects. Every day, the male student spends time solving about 1-2 practice tests in math, physics, and chemistry.
“When studying in class, I will focus on listening to the lectures and then go home to study and supplement advanced knowledge. To achieve the best results, I practiced many mock tests to see how good my ability is. During the practice process, I always look back at the wrong answers to learn from experience or supplement knowledge,” Hung said.
The only literature test in the country that got a score of 10 was 11 pages long.
In addition to studying according to the lectures of teachers at school, Manh Hung still regularly uses social networks to communicate with friends and teachers, including participating in exam preparation groups to share and learn how to do exercises and solve problems.
Among the subjects, the male student excels most in physics and chemistry, and the method of learning these subjects is to grasp the knowledge in the textbooks, study in class combined with online learning. In grade 12, Hung achieved a total score of 9.9 in physics and chemistry. In 12 years of schooling, he has always been an excellent student.
“I feel regretful that I didn’t get a perfect score in math. I was very confident in my work, and I had time to spare on the test,” Hung confided.

Talking about career orientation, Hung said that since grade 10, he started planning to take the entrance exam for information technology at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
“Since grade 10, I have spent a lot of time studying and reviewing for block A00 to be able to get high scores in the high school graduation exam and apply to the school,” Hung said.
Ms. Ho Thi Minh Thao, Hung's mother, shared: "Hung is very diligent in studying. During the exam preparation period, he often stays up until 1-2 am to study. Many times when I see him staying up late, I feel sorry for him. I am very happy for him when he achieved high exam results to register for the university of his choice."
