On September 2, Bach Dang 2 bridge connecting Vinh Cuu district (Dong Nai) and Tan Uyen (Binh Duong) opened to traffic.

After nearly 3 years of construction, Bach Dang 2 Bridge has begun its mission of connecting the two banks of the Dong Nai River, creating a new direction for provinces and cities in the Southeast region, and creating an industrial ecosystem around the area.

This bridge will also be an important piece in the regional traffic picture, connecting to Long Thanh airport, Bien Hoa airport, seaports, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Liem, a technical officer of Cienco 4 Group (the construction unit), from Nghe An, said that he has been involved with Bach Dang 2 Bridge since the first days of construction. The bridge implementation process encountered many difficulties, especially the site clearance and the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, the main items will be implemented from the end of 2022.

"We have made great efforts to complete Bach Dang 2 Bridge as soon as possible. Seeing people from both sides passing by makes us happy and proud," said Mr. Liem.

Similarly, worker Nguyen Anh Phi shared that he was very happy because after many months of working together, Bach Dang 2 bridge has now been completed.

"In a few days, I will return to my hometown Nghe An for a week, then return to Dong Nai to work on a new project. Every time a project is completed, I feel happy again. I hope everyone will have a smooth and safe trip."

Being able to travel on the new bridge, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut, residing in Binh Loi commune, Vinh Cuu district, said that before, he had to take a ferry to Tan Uyen, waiting was difficult, now that there is a bridge, traveling is faster and closer.

Bach Dang 2 Bridge project started construction at the end of 2021. The entire project is nearly 3km long, of which the bridge is more than 400m long, 17m wide, including 4 lanes, and a clearance of 7m. The bridge has 4 piers on the river and two piers on the bank.

The total investment of the project is nearly 500 billion VND, from the budget of Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces. The capital for the project is divided according to the ratio of each locality contributing 50% of the cost for the main bridge and each locality investing in the construction of the approach road in the area.

The project is invested by the Binh Duong Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. The construction contractor is a joint venture between Cienco 4 Group Joint Stock Company and Construction and Investment Joint Stock Company 492.

Originally scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022, progress has been delayed due to site clearance issues and the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is known that in addition to Bach Dang 2 bridge, Dong Nai and Binh Duong plan to build 4 new bridges across Dong Nai river and Be river to connect: Hieu Liem 2, Tan An - Lac An, Tan Hien - Thuong Tan, Thanh Hoi 2.
