Candidates violated regulations, using phones in the restroom

On the morning of June 27, along with more than 1 million candidates nationwide, more than 14,000 candidates from Khanh Hoa province entered the first exam session of the 2024 high school graduation exam with the literature exam in essay format, with a test time of 120 minutes.

According to the Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training, 70 candidates were absent from the literature exam this morning out of 14,325 candidates registered. Of these, 13 candidates were exempted from the exam, and 57 candidates dropped out. One candidate at the exam site at Khanh Son High School (Khanh Son District) violated exam regulations by using a phone in the restroom.

According to the candidates, the literature test was considered to be within their ability, with a familiar structure, with a reading comprehension section of 3 points and an essay section of 7 points. Many candidates left the exam room in a relaxed mood.

Nguyen Minh Hieu (exam score of Ly Tu Trong High School, Nha Trang City) said that although his "favorite" subjects are in the natural sciences, and he doesn't focus much on social sciences, Hieu found that this year's literature exam wasn't too difficult. "Although I didn't review literature thoroughly, I still finished the exam 30 minutes before the end of the time. I think I'll get 6-7 points for this exam," Hieu shared.

Student Nguyen Thi Kim Han (exam score of Ly Tu Trong High School, Nha Trang City) is also quite confident with her literature exam.

Han said that not only she but many other students also found this year's literature exam to be within their ability and not challenging. "I have reviewed the Country section quite thoroughly so I hope to get a high score. The reading comprehension section about the excerpt River and the Generations of the Country by poet Nguyen Quang Thieu is quite difficult but if you read carefully you will be able to do it. The social discussion section this year is very good when it mentions respecting individuality, I hope I will get 8 points in literature," Han said confidently.
