According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, universities must complete early admission and notify candidates of the results, and update the list of candidates eligible for early admission to the admission system before 5:00 p.m. on July 10.

And starting from July 17, candidates can see their early admission wishes on the system to register. They can also use the method of considering high school graduation exam scores to register new wishes. However, many candidates wonder whether it is possible to consider new wishes using their academic records and ability assessment test scores?

Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said: "From 2023, the Ministry of Education and Training will change the admission technique, that is, when registering for admission on the system, candidates do not need to choose the method and subject combination. This means that candidates who have not been admitted early before can completely continue to register their wishes, the system will still choose the subject combination and method with the highest score for consideration (including high school graduation exam scores, school report scores, and competency assessment test scores). This is also one of the reasons why in 2023, the admission period had to be extended by 2 days".

Dr. Nhan explained that in 2023, the admission period must be extended by 2 days because the system must simultaneously process too many data streams: early admission, admission based on high school graduation exam scores, new admission based on academic records, competency assessment test scores... so it is overloaded. The Ministry of Education and Training must return the data to the schools for them to process themselves, then update the admission list based on academic records and competency assessment test scores, and then the system will continue to filter out fakes to produce the final results.

According to Mr. Nhan, schools accepting applications for admission based on academic transcripts and ability assessment scores at this time are mostly due to not having received enough applications for early admission.

Master Nguyen Thi Mai Binh, Head of Training Department of Hung Vuong University (HCMC), said: "To continue to consider new admissions based on academic transcripts and competency assessment test scores at the same time as considering high school graduation exam scores on the system, universities must clearly state this in their public admission plans for candidates and send it to the Ministry of Education and Training from the beginning."

At the same time, Master Binh noted that if candidates have a high school graduation exam score lower than the minimum admission score, and the chance of passing the exam based on high school graduation exam scores is low, they can still use their ability assessment scores and academic transcript scores to register on the system. However, not all schools accept this time, so students must carefully read the admission information of the schools.
