Do not use the VNeID application to present your ID card when entering the exam room.

Each candidate will receive an exam card/paper with his/her photo, stamped on the photo. The paper clearly states the candidate's personal information and the exam location. On the day of the exam, candidates need to carefully review the personal information on the card. If there are any incorrect details, they need to notify the exam room supervisor for timely correction.

Candidates keep their exam papers throughout the exam to present at the beginning of each exam session. In addition, candidates must bring their ID cards. The Ministry of Education and Training notes that candidates are not allowed to use the VNeID application to present their ID cards when entering the exam room because this application is on the phone, but the regulations stipulate that candidates are not allowed to bring phones into the exam area.

Candidates who forget their exam admission form and ID card can be instructed by the invigilator to make a commitment before the exam.

Check the exam location in advance to avoid confusion.

To avoid confusion about test scores, candidates need to carefully check their test scores and parents should help their children double-check to be sure. Candidates need to be present on the day of the test to know the exact test scores, listen to the regulations and confirm related documents if there are any errors.

Preventing late arrivals

In localities with complex terrain, the exam steering committee supports candidates with accommodation near the exam area to minimize risks arising when traveling on the road. Some localities have rapid response teams ready to pick up candidates who oversleep or wake up late to the exam site.

However, candidates need to be proactive to avoid being late for the exam or needing help from others. Based on experience from many exam seasons, in the final exam session, many homeroom teachers have paid close attention to the time. Accordingly, a few days before the exam, candidates should go to bed before 10 pm and wake up earlier than usual to get used to the appropriate time frame for taking the exam.

In big cities, during exam days, there may be traffic jams, heavy rains, and unexpected flooding. Therefore, candidates should not calculate until close to the exam time to avoid possible risks.

What can and cannot be brought into the exam room?

According to the exam regulations, candidates taking the 2024 high school graduation exam are only allowed to bring into the exam room pens; rulers; pencils; erasers; squares; graphing rulers; drawing tools; handheld calculators without text editing functions and no memory cards; Vietnam Geography Atlas compiled according to the 2026 General Education Program (without markings or writing any other content).

Prohibited items to bring into the exam room include: Carbon paper, erasers, alcoholic beverages; weapons and explosives, flammable substances; documents, communication devices with the function of receiving, broadcasting information, recording audio, video or containing information for cheating during the exam.

In past exams, many candidates had to stop taking the exam because they brought their phones into the exam room. Many candidates did not do it on purpose, but because they did not know the rules, they thought that if their phones were turned off or had run out of battery, they could bring them in. Some candidates simply forgot to leave them outside before entering the exam area.

These are very unfortunate cases so candidates need to be more aware. Things like expensive phones, iPads, laptops, it is best for candidates to leave them at home to avoid loss or damage when left outside the exam area.

Another thing candidates need to note is that the candidate's draft paper must be blank and signed by the supervisor. If the candidate writes on a paper without the supervisor's signature, the draft may be considered an unauthorized document and subject to disciplinary action according to regulations.

Fill in information, registration number, and exam code correctly.

Candidates need to fill in information, registration number, exam code (for multiple choice exams) on the exam paper, multiple choice answer sheet including zeros in front of the number series. In case of moving to the second sheet (for essay exams), the information must also be filled in immediately to avoid forgetting after submitting the exam.

Candidates must not use two colors of ink on the essay test or leave any strange marks on the test because this will be considered a sign of cheating.

For multiple-choice tests, candidates take the test on a pre-printed answer sheet. For each question, candidates are only allowed to fill in one answer with a black pencil. When filling in, candidates must fill in the entire box and fill in the blank. If they choose another option, they must use an eraser to completely erase the box they just filled in. Candidates must keep the multiple-choice answer sheet from being crumpled or torn.

Carefully review the exam upon receipt, check the exam before submitting.

After receiving the high school graduation exam, candidates need to immediately check whether the exam paper has enough pages and whether any parts are blurred. If so, they must immediately notify the supervisor for handling. Do not attempt to take the exam on a problematic exam paper or notify late, as this will affect the exam results.

For combined exams with component subjects, candidates need to check to ensure that the component subjects in the combined exam have the same exam code. If they do not have the same exam code, they must notify the supervisor immediately, no later than 5 minutes from the time the exam is distributed.

Candidates taking multiple choice tests should note not to do the test immediately upon receiving the test, but should wait for the signal before doing the test.

When submitting the test, candidates must write down the number of pages (for essay tests) and sign to confirm according to the invigilator's instructions. Only when the invigilator has finished checking the number of test papers should candidates leave the examination room.
