The project is determined to complete the erection of the pole in May.

Under the sweltering sun, sweat soaked the workers' protective clothing, the sound of machinery still roared incessantly, all striving towards a single goal: completing the project on schedule in June, promptly releasing capacity for Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant according to the direction of the Prime Minister.

This project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), managed by the Power Transmission Project Management Board (NPTPMB), and operated by Power Transmission Company 4.

The project will start construction in the fourth quarter of 2024, with a scale of constructing a 220kV overhead line, with a total length of about 6.83 km, starting from Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant and connecting to the existing 220kV My Xuan - Cat Lai line. The implementation location is in Phuoc Khanh commune, Vinh Thanh commune, Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province.

Mr. Le Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of NPTPMB said: This is a small-scale project but has a very important meaning with the task of releasing the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant into the national power system; ensuring continuous and safe power supply for the load center of Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring areas; strengthening the connection of the 220kV power system in the area, increasing safety, flexibility in operation and stability for the national power system.

Despite the long holiday, NPTPMB and contractors mobilized maximum resources to speed up construction progress with the spirit of working "through holidays and days off", "overcoming the sun and rain" to meet the project's progress target.

Mr. Dinh Thanh Van, General Director of Thai Binh Duong Joint Stock Company - the project's construction unit, said: Following the direction of the investor, along with the determination of the contractor with the desire to complete the project soon, during the recent holidays, we still worked normally. The construction site mobilized 3 construction teams, each team of about 15 people to focus on digging and casting foundations and erecting columns at the locations right after the site was cleared.

Up to now, the entire route has completed 9/11 foundation positions, is constructing the remaining 2 foundation positions; erected 6/11 column positions and is deploying the erection of the remaining pillars.

Giving more details about the project progress, Mr. Dinh Thanh Van said: The remaining two foundation locations (locations 17 and 18) are particularly difficult locations in terms of construction terrain, heavily dependent on high tides to pump sand and transport materials into position. We are determined to complete the foundations of these two locations from May 12 to 14.

"The unit will mobilize maximum force to focus on erecting the pole and is determined to complete it in May. During the pole erection process, we will assemble materials and equipment to prepare for wire pulling and are determined to complete the project in June 2025 as required by the investor," the General Director of Thai Binh Duong Joint Stock Company affirmed.

The representative of the construction unit added that despite many difficulties during the construction process, the contractor committed to mobilizing maximum human and material resources to meet the construction schedule.

Resolutely coordinate to remove obstacles in the route corridor

"However, currently, the ground of the corridor of the route has not yet been agreed upon by the people. Therefore, we hope that Dong Nai province and Nhon Trach district will continue to join hands and accompany us to soon hand over the ground to speed up the construction progress," Mr. Dinh Thanh Van suggested.

Regarding the progress of site handover, Mr. Le Tuan Anh, Deputy Director of NPTPMB added: In the past, with the participation of local authorities and the support of households, all foundation positions have been handed over for construction. However, the corridor for the line to serve the wire pulling still has some households that NPTPMB is coordinating with the construction contractor to propagate and mobilize.

In order to complete the construction and energize the project on schedule and put it into operation to release the capacity of Nhon Trach 3 Power Plant into the national power system in June 2025 according to the direction of the Prime Minister in Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 3, 2025 and Official Dispatch No. 49/CD-TTg (dated April 23, 2025), NPTPMB recommends that the People's Committee of Nhon Trach district continue to support the propaganda work, mobilize households to agree and support this key project to ensure the country's energy security.

Relevant departments/offices urgently appraise and approve specific land prices in parallel with completing the records of current status inventory, verifying land origin, and programming and approving compensation plans to promptly hand over the construction site to the Project.

NPTPMB recommends that the Department of Industry and Trade of Dong Nai province help request the Provincial People's Committee to update the scale and location of power projects in the dossier and land use planning map until 2030 in Nhon Trach district. The Provincial People's Committee directs relevant departments, branches and Nhon Trach district People's Committee to implement BTGPMB procedures in parallel with the procedures for updating land use planning.

The 220kV Nhon Trach 3 - My Xuan - Cat Lai transmission line project is not only a power infrastructure project, but also an important link in ensuring national energy security.

Amidst numerous difficulties in terms of site, weather and special construction conditions, the construction team's spirit of "working tirelessly, never retreating" has become a symbol of determination to complete the task on time.

The synchronous participation of local authorities and the support of the people will be the key to bringing the project to the finish line. This is not just a power project but a source of energy to fuel the entire key economic region of the South to grow strongly.
