This afternoon, April 22, at the Provincial Police Department, the Congress to establish the Association of Former People's Police Officers for the 2023-2028 term took place. Former Deputy Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, former Permanent Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Khanh Toan; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang; Director of the Provincial Police Department, Colonel Nguyen Duc Hai attended.

The Provincial Association of Former People's Public Security Officers was established under Decision No. 39/QD-UBND dated January 10, 2024; has its own seal and account; operates in accordance with the provisions of Vietnamese law. After its establishment, the association operates according to its regulations, on the principles of voluntariness, democracy, equality, publicity, transparency, solidarity, and mutual assistance.

The Association aims at charitable activities, caring for and helping members; organizing activities to improve health, spiritual life and promote knowledge, working experience, and noble qualities of public security officers and soldiers, continuing to contribute their strength and intelligence to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

Speaking at the congress, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang requested the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Provincial Police to continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for the Provincial Association of Former Police Officers to operate effectively. The Association needs to closely follow the Party's policies and the State's laws on organization and management as well as the regulations, charters and guidelines of the Vietnam Association of Former Police Officers to operate.

At the same time, he requested that former members of the People's Public Security Forces continue to promote the fine traditions of the People's Public Security Forces, always unite and support each other, act as a bridge between the police at all levels and the people; continue to contribute their efforts and intelligence to building the Party and government at the grassroots level, and at the same time build a strong and effective association, dedicating themselves to the set goals.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Provincial Former Police Officers Association for the 2023-2028 term, consisting of 23 members. Former Director of the Provincial Police, Major General Le Cong Dung, was elected as Chairman of the Association for the 2023-2028 term. The Congress also approved the direction, tasks and work program for the 2023-2028 term.
