On the morning of May 12, the opening ceremony of the 6th National Startup Day for students took place.

The 6th National Student Startup Festival is part of the activities to continue implementing Decision No. 1665 dated October 30, 2017 of the Prime Minister on approving the Project "Supporting students to start a business until 2025".

The event was organized with the aim of promoting the participation of universities and general education institutions in career counseling, employment and start-up support for students. At the same time, it arouses the spirit of entrepreneurship, the desire to establish oneself and start a business, helping students change their thinking, perception, dare to think, dare to do, creating an environment where learning goes hand in hand with practice in educational institutions.

Reporting at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi said that recently, the Ministry of Education and Training has presided over and coordinated with ministries and branches to review, revise, promulgate and submit to competent authorities to promulgate mechanisms and policies to promote and facilitate the development of innovative startup ecosystems in schools.

From scientific research activities and innovative startup activities of the facility, up to now, the national startup festival for students has attracted more than 3,000 startup projects, more than 4,000 startup ideas with more than 20,000 students participating.

It can be seen that students in the 4.0 era are equipped not only with knowledge, skills, and attitudes but also with experience in participating in projects, research activities, and practical activities.

“Therefore, scientific research is considered by educational institutions as an important tool to support educational innovation orientation, creating motivation for innovative startups; many efforts of students and educational institutions have borne fruit,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi.

In his speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed that startups and innovation are an important driving force and resource for the sustainable development of each country. To have startups and innovation, there must be innovative people. Startups require passion, determination, perseverance and courage to overcome difficulties and challenges to achieve success.

At the same time, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of young generations as they are the future owners of the country and always carry within them the tradition of patriotism, national pride, inheriting the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, will, determination, passion and dedication of previous generations.

The Prime Minister said that in order for start-up activities among students to develop dramatically and truly become a widespread movement across the country, there needs to be a strong participation of the entire political system; support from the people and businesses. With specific, appropriate, practical and effective support mechanisms, policies and solutions both in the short and long term.

In response to the requirements, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the Ministry of Education and Training, together with all levels, sectors and localities, to focus on implementing the following contents in a drastic, synchronous and effective manner: "Promote; Strengthen; Connect; Focus; Encourage".

Notably, it is necessary to promote the effective implementation of current policies; at the same time, review, amend and promptly supplement appropriate mechanisms and policies, creating a favorable environment, conditions and legal basis for young people and students to start businesses and innovate.

Strengthening the connection between universities, colleges and research centers with modern equipment to help students research, create sample products, and create connections between professional groups through the support of staff, lecturers and coordinators.
