The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to organize the New Year of the Rice and the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024 for ethnic minority areas.
Accordingly, to facilitate the organization of the New Year of the Rice Festival of the ethnic minorities in 4 highland communes (Phan Son, Phan Lam, Phan Dien and Phan Tien) in Bac Binh district taking place from January 24 to 25, 2024 (on the 14th and 15th of the 12th lunar month) and the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024 in the ethnic minorities area, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and branches, as well as direct local departments, branches and organizations to proactively organize for the people to celebrate the New Year happily, economically and safely. Organize delegations to visit and encourage the people, especially poor households and policy families in the ethnic minorities area in the province.
The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs shall proactively coordinate with the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to inspect the situation of shortages and hunger near the harvest season. In case there are ethnic minority households that are short of food or hungry near the harvest season, promptly advise and organize relief work; do not let any ethnic minority households suffer from shortages or hunger before, during and after Tet. At the same time, coordinate and propose visits and gifts to policy beneficiaries and poor households during the New Year of the Rice and the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024 according to the direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is implementing a plan to perform art performances to serve the Dau Lua Festival of the K'ho and Raglay ethnic groups and the Chabul (Ky Yen) Festival of the Cham ethnic group in Bac Binh, Ham Tan and Ham Thuan Nam districts. The Provincial Ethnic Committee proactively coordinates with relevant sectors and localities to advise on the development of a plan to visit and celebrate the New Year and prepare necessary conditions for provincial leaders to visit and celebrate the Dau Lua Festival with ethnic minorities in 4 highland communes of Bac Binh district on January 24, 2024 and the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024 according to the general plan.
On the occasion of the New Year of the Rice in 2024, cadres, soldiers, civil servants, public employees, laborers, workers, students and pupils of the K'ho and Raglay ethnic groups in Phan Tien, Phan Son, Phan Lam and Phan Dien communes will have 3 days off, from January 23 to 25, 2024.
