Promoting and boosting sea tourism, expanding the market... are the ways that Quang Ninh tourism is accelerating and completing the goal of welcoming 3.5 million international visitors in 2024.

According to the Department of Tourism, in October, Quang Ninh welcomed over 1.1 million visitors, bringing the total number of visitors in the first 10 months of 2024 to nearly 16.8 million. Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach over 3 million. The target is for Quang Ninh to welcome 3,361,000 visitors, of which international visitors need to reach 909,000 in the last months of 2024, to complete the target of welcoming 19 million visitors, including 3.5 million international visitors.

Recently, in a meeting on solutions to promote tourism development in the last months of 2024, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh requested the tourism industry to accelerate its goals by organizing a variety of events, developing new tourism products, promoting cruise tourism, potential markets; building all-inclusive experience product packages connecting key tourist destinations and localities of the province... All are aimed at implementing feasible and effective solutions with the highest efforts to achieve the set goals.

According to tourism experts, the end of the year is the low season for the domestic tourist market. Meanwhile, the international tourist market, despite certain difficulties, still has some movements and improvements. Therefore, the provincial tourism industry is currently making great efforts to promote and connect markets.

There are many positive signs for the Korean and Taiwanese (Chinese) tourist markets. Accordingly, for the 2024-2025 tourist season, these two markets have had many pre-booked schedules for Ha Long tourism and are approaching the peak of 2019. One of the major tourist markets to Quang Ninh is China, which is currently interested in promoting the domestic market, but is also promoting some activities related to tourism activities for tourists coming to Vietnam through Mong Cai international border gate. Therefore, it is forecasted that Chinese tourists to Mong Cai city during the day may soon be allowed to operate again.

For the European-American tourist market, it is currently affected by the war in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Therefore, the number of tourists from this region to ASEAN is not much. But the good news is that there is currently growth in booking overnight train services in Quang Ninh in October and November 2024.

In addition to large, traditional markets, Quang Ninh tourism is very interested in promoting and boosting the Indian and ASEAN markets. Therefore, in recent months, the number of visitors from India, the Philippines , Malaysia... is increasing strongly, even with many luxury groups and high spending coming to Quang Ninh. Therefore, it is forecasted that in the coming months, this market may continue to flourish.

One of the tourism markets that Quang Ninh is promoting is sea tourism, especially international cruise tourism. Accordingly, Quang Ninh tourism is currently increasing its attraction by promoting connections with cruise lines, improving service quality, and renewing tour routes... Thanks to that, the 2024-2025 cruise season is expected to have more than 60 cruises to Ha Long with more than 100,000 visitors. Particularly from now until the end of 2024, it is expected that there will be 13 cruises to Ha Long.

In addition, Quang Ninh tourism is also very interested in promoting new sea tourism routes that have just been reopened. These are the Guangzhou - Ha Long and Hong Kong - Ha Long tourism routes. In particular, the Bac Hai - Ha Long route is being accelerated, expected to open and welcome the first trip to Ha Long City at the end of 2024. At the same time, the industry is also actively renewing itself with different experience products.

Accordingly, three beaches, Soi Sim, Hang Co and Trinh Nu, on Ha Long Bay will be put into operation immediately; art performances combined with light parties will be organized in some qualified caves on the Bay; and seven pristine island areas and beaches will be identified for the billionaire and super-luxury segment of the world's 1% population.

In addition, the tourism industry also carries out many promotional activities such as: Welcoming Chinese and Indian business and press delegations to survey and connect Quang Ninh tourism; supporting the organization of the Binh Lieu farmtrip program for international travel businesses. Along with that are many stimulus events such as: Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2024, Korean and Vietnamese Music Festival, Asian Police Taekwondo Open Tournament...

With the above positive movements, it is expected that these will be conditions to attract international visitors to Quang Ninh, contributing to realizing the goal of welcoming 3.5 million international visitors in 2024.
