(Haiphong.gov.vn) – The Chairman of the City People's Committee has just issued Directive 04/CT-UBND requesting Departments, branches, units and People's Committees of districts to focus on implementing, strengthening management, operation and price stabilization of the market; combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods during the Lunar New Year 2024.

Accordingly, the Directive requires the Department of Finance to strengthen inspection and supervision of compliance with legal regulations on price management, taxes, fees and charges in the area, especially for essential consumer goods and services, goods and services on the price declaration list; take strict measures to handle violations according to regulations; publicly announce organizations and individuals with violations and the form of handling on mass media. Do not let the phenomenon of taking advantage of the Tet holiday to increase prices in a chain, affecting social life.

The Directive assigns the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and work with relevant units to continue to effectively implement the Market Stabilization Program according to Plan No. 312/KH-UBND dated December 6, 2023 of the City People's Committee.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shall preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and units to review and plan to ensure balance of supply and demand of essential food and foodstuffs, especially pork, to avoid shortages and price hikes before, during and after Tet; closely monitor production and disease developments to promptly have plans to ensure supply and stabilize the market.

The Department of Transport shall strengthen inspection of price declaration and posting of transport fares; strictly handle violations and take advantage of increased passenger numbers during holidays, Tet, and peak seasons to increase transport fares at high levels.

The City Tax Department directs the review and grasp of the subjects and sources of budget revenue in the area, controls tax declaration and tax settlement of enterprises, organizations and individuals to collect correctly, fully and promptly taxes, fees, charges and other revenues to the state budget; strengthens inspection, detection and prevention of tax evasion, tax arrears and transfer pricing. Strictly manage tax refunds, ensure correct subjects, correct regulations, timely and strict detection and handling of violations.

The Directive also requires the People's Committees of districts to proactively monitor the market price situation before, during and after Tet. Direct functional units in the area to inspect and supervise the implementation of regulations at market stabilization points of sale, price management, inspection and control of price posting and selling at listed prices in the area; proactively inform and coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade and the Department of Finance to promptly handle any instability in the supply and demand of goods and price fluctuations in the area (if any)./.
