Ta Nang commune has many potentials and strengths to develop clean and sustainable agriculture. The leader of Ta Nang commune People's Committee said that in the period of 2020 - 2025, the agricultural sector maintained a fairly high growth rate. Accordingly, in the recent period, the locality has focused on restructuring key crops and livestock with advantages such as: vegetables, flowers, rice, coffee, macadamia, buffalo, cows...
The value of products obtained per unit area reached 150 million VND/ha/year and the rate of households participating in the association accounted for 37.25%. Regarding high-tech agriculture, the locality focused on directing production towards intensive farming and high-tech application with a rate of 75/70% of the cultivated area, reaching 107% compared to the target at the beginning of the term.
According to Mr. Luong Vinh - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Ta Nang commune, the total agricultural land area of the commune is currently 7,978 hectares. Of which, the main crop is coffee with 5,201 hectares, rice with 1,166 hectares and over 1,600 hectares of short-term crops such as tomatoes, bell peppers, vegetables, tubers, fruits...
Up to now, the average income per unit area is 150 million VND/ha/year, an increase of 30 million VND/ha/year compared to 2020. The locality also has 903 households (66.5%) participating in linking with companies, businesses and traders to consume products.
On the other hand, livestock development in the commune also continues to achieve many important results. The whole commune maintains and develops a total herd of 8,974 buffaloes and cows, an increase of more than 700 heads compared to 2020.
However, agricultural development in the commune still has many limitations. In particular, agricultural production efficiency is not high, there is still a situation where people produce according to the market, spontaneous cultivation. Besides, the linkage of production, processing, and product consumption has not met the development requirements. Being a large area, the infrastructure is not yet synchronized, some villages are mainly ethnic minorities, so economic conditions are difficult, the ability to absorb and apply science and technology in production and livestock is limited, so life is still difficult.
Mr. Nguyen Vu Linh Sang - Chairman of Ta Nang Commune People's Committee said that after the merger, Ta Nang commune entered a period of stabilizing the apparatus, synchronously implementing socio-economic development tasks. In particular, in the agricultural sector, the disease situation on crops and livestock was well controlled, gradually overcoming shortcomings and limitations.
In the Resolution of the Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term, the locality set a goal for the agricultural sector to maintain a good growth rate and identified coffee, vegetables, rice, macadamia... as key crops to improve people's lives and income.
To achieve specific goals, Ta Nang commune has proposed a number of synchronous solutions, restructuring the agricultural sector towards commodity production, improving productivity, quality and product value with the goal that by 2030, the average production value per unit area will reach from 180 - 200 million VND/ha/year.
Also according to the Chairman of Ta Nang Commune People's Committee, for breakthroughs in agriculture, the locality will focus on developing high-tech agriculture, smart agriculture, organic agriculture, circular agriculture, linking production according to value chains, building brands and labels of high-quality agricultural products, especially OCOP and VietGAP products...
