FDO (FIDO Device Onboarding) is an open industrial security standard, issued by the FIDO Alliance in March 2021, to help the process of deploying, setting up and connecting IoT devices become more automatic, fast, secure and efficient.
FDO is expected to make an important contribution to reshaping the way to ensure network security for IoT devices in general and has a lot of potential for application in many other fields with extremely great efficiency.
As the Internet of Things (IoT) becomes an integral part of everyday life, the world is facing numerous cybersecurity challenges targeting the nearly 30 billion IoT devices in existence.
In particular, the deployment of traditional manual IoT devices brings many security vulnerabilities, is cumbersome, costly, time-consuming, and depends largely on human factors.
Therefore, FIDO Alliance, with the participation of many technology giants in the world such as: Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Intel... has developed the FIDO Device Onboarding (FDO) standard to solve the above problem.
Highly appreciating the capacity of Vietnamese start-ups, Mr. Andrew Shikiar, CEO of FIDO Alliance, commented: “As the first company to achieve 3 FDO certifications at the same time, VinCSS has made a big difference in the IoT market.”
In today’s complex security landscape, IT leaders need secure, scalable, yet cost-effective devices, says Andrew Shikiar. Compared to traditional manual deployments, FDO-certified products deliver exponential value when deploying IoT at scale.
“By strengthening its brand with the world’s first FDO certifications, VinCSS is demonstrating leadership, strong thinking and resilience in the global supply chain in a new way,” said the CEO of the FIDO Alliance.
