Relive the moment President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence in 1945

(Dan Tri) - The exhibition "Keeping the oath of independence" at the Vietnam Military History Museum recreated the moment President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945, moving many people.

On the afternoon of August 12, the Vietnam Military History Museum (Hanoi) opened the exhibition "Keeping the oath of independence". The exhibition introduces more than 300 images, documents, and artifacts vividly depicting the sacrificial, arduous, but extremely glorious struggle of our nation in the journey to protect independence, maintain sovereignty, build and protect the Fatherland.

Attending the exhibition launch were Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (fourth from right to left); Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (third from right to left); Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Huy Hieu, former Deputy Minister of National Defense (second from right to left) and leaders of units under the Ministry of National Defense.

The exhibition is organized with 3 themes. Part 1 with the theme "Independent Autumn" introduces an overview of the national history from the French colonial invasion to before the August Revolution in 1945.

Part 2 - Keeping the Oath displays a general reflection of the long and arduous struggle of the Vietnamese people, through the wars of national liberation against French colonialism and American imperialism, fighting to protect the border and fulfilling the noble international duty, firmly protecting the independence, sovereignty , unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.

The exhibition recreated the historic moment when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945.

On September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh, on behalf of the entire Vietnamese people, solemnly declared to the world the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Since that sacred moment, our entire Party, army and people have continuously strived, fought and sacrificed to maintain national independence, step by step building the country to become increasingly rich, prosperous and happy.

The highlight of the exhibition is the application of augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to recreate history and interact for visitors to research, learn and experience.

Through the AR lens, the image of President Ho Chi Minh appears very realistically, combined with the sound of each word in the Declaration of Independence.

Historical images such as the Tonkin Palace building and De Castries bunker (Dien Bien Phu) are recreated using augmented reality (AR) technology.

Living in these historic days, Lieutenant Colonel Luong Thi Quynh Lam (working at the Ho Chi Minh Truong Son Trail Museum) and millions of people across the country are extremely proud to enjoy the fruits of independence that our ancestors sacrificed their blood to gain.

"With the brilliant atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2, I, like millions of Vietnamese people, feel very excited and proud of the meaningful activities.

Especially through this exhibition, it helps people understand the birth of the Vietnamese revolution, the Vietnam People's Army and grasp the heroic periods of the nation," Lieutenant Colonel Quynh Lam shared.

The "Hoang De Chi Bao" gold seal (Limited Edition) is a treasure passed down from King Minh Mang to King Bao Dai.

On August 30, 1945, at Ngo Mon - Hue, King Bao Dai officially abdicated and handed over the "Hoang De Chi Bao" seal and the sword symbolizing monarchical power to the representative of the Revolutionary Government.

The event of King Bao Dai handing over the seal and sword on August 30, 1945 marked the end of the monarchy, paving the way for the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - the first independent and democratic state in the history of the nation.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quoc, a veteran of the unnumbered train, was extremely moved when standing in front of the podium recreating the historic moment when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945.

The exhibition "Keeping the Oath of Independence" not only recreates the spirit of the historic autumn of 1945, but also serves as a reminder to today's and future generations of the sacred value of independence and sovereignty.

Thereby, contributing to educating, encouraging and motivating cadres, soldiers of the entire army and people to continue promoting the tradition of patriotism, the spirit of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; upholding the will of self-reliance, self-strengthening, and determination in the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.

Mr. Van Thao (son of musician Van Cao) assessed the artifacts at the exhibition as extremely valuable, carrying many historical values.

"Through the exhibits at the exhibition, we will contribute to educating young people about the tradition of remembering the source of water and the arduous sacrifices of our ancestors to gain national independence," Mr. Van Thao assessed.

The exhibition opens to visitors from August 12 at the Vietnam Military History Museum.
