Dak Lak Department of Education and Training proposed to allocate 21 billion VND to urgently reward teachers

(Dan Tri) - In order to promptly pay bonuses to officials and teachers when the deadline for receiving bonuses according to Decree 73 is almost over, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training requested the Department of Finance to allocate more than 21 billion VND.

On the afternoon of January 15, a leader of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training confirmed to Dan Tri reporter that the unit is implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, synthesizing and requesting the Department of Finance to allocate more than 21 billion VND to reward cadres and teachers of 53 affiliated units according to Decree 73.

"We are working with utmost urgency to ensure timely benefits for cadres and teachers with achievements in 2024," informed the leader of the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training.

According to Mr. Bui Van Yen, Director of Dak Lak Department of Finance, the unit has received proposals to supplement the 2024 bonus budget from departments, branches and 3 districts in the area.

"The total additional budget is more than 60 billion VND, the Department is trying to pay the bonus before January 31 according to Decree 73," said Mr. Yen.

The Director of the Dak Lak Department of Finance added that in the province, there are 12 districts, towns and cities with funds to "take care" of paying bonuses to officials and workers; 3 districts with more difficulties have requested the Department to provide additional funds.

Also on January 15, Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, signed a document urging units to implement the bonus regime according to Decree 73 of the Government.

Accordingly, although the province has authorized the issuance of bonus regulations for agencies and units from December 20, 2024, up to now, some units and localities have not implemented them.

Therefore, to ensure the rights of cadres, civil servants and workers, the Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, sectors and district-level People's Committees to urgently issue bonus regulations according to Decree No. 73 of the Government.

At the same time, the province assigned the Department of Finance to review, synthesize and report to the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee to arrange funds for units to implement according to regulations; the deadline for completion is January 20.

As Dan Tri reported, Decree 73 issued on June 30, 2024 by the Government stipulates the basic salary and bonus regime for cadres, civil servants, public employees and armed forces.

The above subjects will have a bonus regime based on outstanding work achievements and annual task completion assessment and classification results. The annual bonus fund is determined by 10% of the total salary fund.

According to Decree 73, by January 31 of the following year, if an agency or unit does not use up the year's bonus fund, it cannot transfer the source to the following year's bonus fund.

Because the deadline for receiving the bonus in 2024 is only more than 10 days (deadline January 31), however, in Dak Lak, only a few localities have issued bonus regulations.

The fact that some departments, sectors and localities have not yet issued bonus regulations has made workers worried. Typically, teachers in Dak Lak were worried when the deadline for receiving bonuses was almost over, but the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training had not announced the bonuses.
