On March 12, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and representatives of departments and branches came to conduct a field survey at the An Phu traffic intersection construction project, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Luong Minh Phuc, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board) said that the An Phu intersection project has a total investment of VND 3,400 billion and will start construction in December 2022.

This is a key project in the eastern gateway area of ​​the city. When completed, it will help strengthen the connection between Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway with Mai Chi Tho Street and the main routes of Ho Chi Minh City.

The project has 12 packages under construction, and to date, the total progress has reached 65%. Of these, 2 items, the construction of Ba Dat Bridge and Giong Ong To Bridge, have reached 90% of the construction volume and are currently completing the asphalt concrete paving work.

Regarding the HC1 underpass (located on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway to Mai Chi Tho), about 80% of the work has been completed. The remaining items such as the pumping station, closed tunnel sections, etc. are being urgently constructed to open to traffic before April 30.

Contractors are accelerating progress to complete the remaining work in 2025.

However, according to Mr. Phuc, the expansion of Luong Dinh Cua Street, from Mai Chi Tho to Nguyen Hoang Street (on the right side of the route), cannot be implemented yet because of the land area of ​​22,012 square meters (belonging to An Phu Urban Development Area). This makes the project completed but not synchronized.

Mr. Phuc proposed that the Department of Natural Resources and Environment preside over and coordinate with the Department of Justice, Department of Construction, Department of Planning and Investment, Thu Duc City People's Committee, Thu Thiem Real Estate Joint Stock Company, to follow the direction of the City People's Committee on researching and agreeing on solutions to serve as a basis for compensation and site clearance for the above-mentioned land.

"Once the site clearance is completed, the contractor will relocate the D400 water supply pipeline and construct the N1.2 bridge branch as well as the road expansion. This work is expected to take about a year from the date of receiving the full site," said Mr. Phuc.

Appreciating the efforts of the investor, contractor, consultant and related units in implementing the project, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc requested the units to continue to strive to complete the project by the end of 2025 as planned.

With difficulties in terms of land, Mr. Duoc requested that departments, branches, and the People's Committee of Thu Duc City quickly find solutions to promptly hand over to investors and contractors.

"HCMC leaders will have specific instructions to remove land clearance problems related to Thu Thiem Real Estate Joint Stock Company," Mr. Duoc said, asking contractors to focus on construction at locations where land is available to ensure progress.

In addition, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested the Thu Duc City People's Committee and the Transport Department to be ready to implement other projects in the coming time such as the national high-speed railway project and metro connecting through An Phu intersection.
