Recently, the cultural house of Tai Ly Say village (Quang Tan commune) has become more bustling and is always filled with the laughter of children of all ages playing together, playing on slides, swings, and exploring the creative exercise area made from recycled materials. Previously, Tang A Senh (Tai Ly Say village) only watched TV and used his phone after school, but since this playground was built, Senh and his friends come here every day to play on swings, seesaws, etc.
Recently, the Youth Union in Dam Ha and Quang Tan communes have coordinated to build children's playgrounds from recycled materials in 100% of the villages and hamlets of the two communes. Used materials such as old tires, plastic bottles, ropes, old bamboo tables, etc., after being cleaned, are shaped, painted, decorated with eye-catching drawings, chained, and cleverly reinforced into swings, seesaws, slides, chess boards, garbage sorting houses, recycling bins, etc., creating attractive playgrounds for children. Many playgrounds also have creative objects such as rice mills, rice pounders, etc., recreating the scene of labor production in the past.
Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Dam Ha Commune, Doan Manh Quyet, said: After 2 years of implementation, the entire Dam Ha Commune has 12 playgrounds for children made from recycled materials. In the coming time, we will continue to build playgrounds for children in the remaining villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods, as well as diversifying the toys and equipment to attract a large number of children to participate. We hope to continue to receive attention from local authorities and the whole society to join hands in building children's playgrounds, as well as activities for children in the coming time.
In Tien Yen, Dien Xa, Dong Ngu communes, the local Youth Union has deployed the construction of children's playgrounds from recycled materials since 2022. After 3 years of implementation, up to now, 16 recycled playgrounds have been put into use, operating stably, attracting over 4,200 children in the area to play safely every year, contributing to reducing accidents and injuries to children.
Secretary of the Youth Union of Tien Yen Commune, Tran Thi Dieu Linh, said: In order for the playgrounds to operate well, we regularly check and promptly repair equipment that shows signs of deterioration. At the same time, we closely coordinate with the villages to manage and upgrade the landscape near the playgrounds, ensuring cleanliness and safety for children to participate in playing. Thereby contributing to the completion of cultural institutions associated with cultural houses in villages and neighborhoods in the area. In the coming time, the Youth Union of the commune will implement a plan to upgrade playgrounds associated with folk games, continue to promote socialization to install more playground systems and swimming pools in villages and neighborhoods. Strive to expand the scale and upgrade playgrounds, combining folk playground models with modern football fields and sports fields for children.
Building playgrounds from recycled materials for children is practical, especially in remote and mountainous areas. Thereby, not only creating a healthy playground for children, helping them develop comprehensively physically and mentally, but also contributing to educating children about a healthy lifestyle, environmental protection awareness, stimulating children's creativity, making use of used materials to create positive values for the community and society.
