Salon 1900 was unfairly "exposed"?
This morning, June 13, the online community was in an uproar over the spreading news that "Salon 1900 in Hanoi "stolen" 650 real hairs from cancer patients.
Specifically, the information was widely shared in many forums with the content: "Waiting for the 1900 hair salon, people donated 700 sets of hair to cancer patients, the shop owner took 650, only gave 50 sets". This content was shared rapidly with thousands of comments, most of which condemned and were indignant at this hair salon.
Information "exposing" Salon 1900 for "cutting" hair donated to cancer patients has spread rapidly on social networks (screenshot).
According to the investigation of Giao Thong Newspaper reporter, this information comes from a post by a hair salon owner in Bac Ninh with the following sharing: "Next time the charity program has 1900 Hair Salon, there will be no PN and the Bac Ninh Volunteer Haircut Club brothers", along with the above "exposure" information.
However, speaking to Giao thong Newspaper reporters, Dr. Nguyen Ba Tinh, Deputy Director of the Bright Tomorrow Cancer Patient Support Fund, denied this spreading information: "The information that 1900 is holding more than 700 donated hairs in Bac Ninh that is being spread on social networks is incorrect. In fact, all of this donated hair is still at Bac Ninh General Hospital and will be transferred to the Bright Tomorrow Fund. After that, this hair will continue to be sent by the Fund to wig manufacturers and will continue to be donated to cancer patients."
Mr. Tinh added: He was the one who was directly present, giving 50 wigs to cancer patients in Bac Ninh on June 11. This is a program organized by the Bright Tomorrow Fund, and Salon 1900 is a companion unit of the Fund.
Since September 2022, the program to mobilize hair donations, create and give wigs to cancer patients has been organized by the Bright Tomorrow Cancer Patient Support Fund. To date, 1,400 hairs have been given to cancer patients in many hospitals nationwide, including Bac Ninh General Hospital and Bac Giang Oncology Hospital.
According to Mr. Tinh, Salon 1900 has been with the Fund from the beginning in this program and has done a good job of mobilizing hair donation in the community. In the past, this unit has also supported the Fund with 200 wigs and about 300 million VND for hair donation activities for cancer patients.
What did the hospital leader who received the hair say?
Also related to this, Mr. Nguyen Van Duong, Deputy Director of Bac Ninh General Hospital said: This is not true information. Previously, the hospital cooperated with the Bright Tomorrow Fund to organize a program to donate hair to cancer patients. In the program, Apo Hair Company, through the Bright Tomorrow Fund, donated 50 sets of hair to patients of the hospital's Oncology Center. There is no story of Salon 1900 donating 50 sets of hair. They only participated in helping to cut and fix hair for patients and donors.
In addition to hair salon 1900, there are 15 other hair salons in Bac Ninh participating in supporting the hospital in cutting and styling hair for donors and patients at the hospital. In addition, they support hair donors to come and have their hair styled for free at the 16 hair salons above.
Mr. Duong also added that on June 7, a total of 703 sets of hair were donated to cancer patients at the hospital. Currently, this amount of hair is being kept by the hospital's social work department, awaiting transfer to the Bright Tomorrow Fund.
In response to the noisy comments on social networks, a manager of this hair salon said, "The information that the salon donated 50 sets of hair and took back 650 sets when implementing the hair donation program for cancer patients at Bac Ninh General Hospital is fabricated, one-sided, and greatly affects the reputation of this hair salon."
