Leaker Digital Chat Station recently claimed on Weibo that the leaked source revealed that the iPhone 18 series expected to be released in 2026 may receive a significant improvement in RAM. Specifically, Apple is said to be considering equipping the iPhone generation expected to be released in 2026 with high-performance 6-channel LPDDR5X RAM.

According to AppleInsider , this change will significantly increase memory bandwidth, thereby increasing performance in many different ways. The highlight will likely be multitasking speed and users can switch between applications more quickly.

In addition, 6-channel LPDDR5X RAM is also capable of accelerating response to Apple Intelligence tasks and processing Siri queries on the device.

Additionally, the increased memory bandwidth will come with other improvements to the chip, in line with predictions that the iPhone 18 will use the 2nm A20 chip, which should improve overall responsiveness.

In addition to the memory upgrade, Digital Chat Station previously revealed that the 2026 iPhone models could see a sharp price increase.

"Next year, Apple will launch on TSMC's 2nm process. Expect costs to increase significantly and prices for new devices may increase again," Digital Chat Station wrote.

Apple has contracted TSMC for all of its 2nm manufacturing processes in the early stages of its operations. In addition to the iPhone, the 2nm process is also expected to be used for Apple Silicon for future Mac computers.
