On April 30, CT Semiconductor officially started construction of phase 2 of the ATP semiconductor chip factory at CT Group High-Tech Development Center (Thuan An, Binh Duong).

The event took place within the framework of a series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification, marking an important turning point: For the first time, Vietnamese people mastered technology in the semiconductor field.

With an investment capital of nearly 100 million USD for phase 2, the factory is built on a 3-hectare campus at CT Group High-Tech Development Center (Thuan An, Binh Duong). The factory is expected to go into operation in the fourth quarter of 2025 and reach a capacity of 100 million chips/year by 2027.

The highlight of the project is that the core technology is mastered by a team of Vietnamese experts. This is the first time a 100% Vietnamese-owned OSAT (chip assembly, packaging and testing) factory can carry out the entire technological process independently, without depending on foreign partners.

Mr. Azmi Bin Wan Hussin Wan - CT Semiconductor's Operations Director emphasized: "By September 2025, the first chip assembled, packaged and tested entirely in Vietnam will come out of this line. It will be a true 'Made by Vietnam' product, demonstrating the intelligence and limitless potential of the Vietnamese people."

Not only playing a role in production, the factory is also a hub connecting high-tech projects in CT Group's ecosystem such as UAVs, AI, electric trains and new energy technologies. At the same time, the factory spends more than 10% of its budget on research and development (R&D), focusing on new technology directions such as GaN, Photonic, Advanced Packaging and chip design for AI, 6G and drone applications.

According to CT Group, the ATP factory is not only an industrial project, but also a symbol of Vietnam's aspiration to rise in the global value chain of the semiconductor industry./.
