Today, October 16, the Steering Committee for the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Quang Tri Province in 2024 held its second meeting to prepare for the organization of the congress. According to the Steering Committee's report, up to now, the districts of Huong Hoa and Dakrong have completed the district-level congresses of ethnic minority delegates; the districts of Gio Linh, Vinh Linh, Cam Lo, and provincial-level units and sectors have organized joint conferences to elect official delegates to attend the provincial congress.

The Provincial Ethnic Committee has completed the draft Political Report with the theme "Ethnic groups of Quang Tri province unite, innovate, promote advantages, potentials, integrate and develop sustainably", the Resolution letter of the Congress sent to the members of the Steering Committee for comments to synthesize and complete.

Regarding propaganda work, Quang Tri Newspaper organized a writing contest on "Typical and advanced examples of ethnic minorities in Quang Tri province" and published a special magazine to welcome the congress; the provincial Radio and Television Station made a documentary film "Multiplying the strength of solidarity from typical and advanced examples of ethnic minorities in Quang Tri province" to be shown at the congress and the script for the art exchange program "Meeting typical and advanced examples of ethnic minorities in Quang Tri province" lasting 80 minutes.

The Provincial Ethnic Committee has worked and agreed to prepare for the exhibition of Van Kieu and Pa Ko cultural space, displaying handicrafts, traditional musical instruments, typical products, traditional costumes, brocade items of ethnic minorities and the collection of Cultural characteristics of Van Kieu and Pa Ko people in Quang Tri.

The official congress is expected to take place in 1 day at the end of November 2024 at the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Guest House, with about 250 official delegates attending.

At the meeting, delegates discussed the contents of propaganda work, document contents, delegates attending and rewarding at the congress; draft Political Report and Resolution Letter of the Congress and proposed some related contents.

Concluding the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong requested the members of the steering committee to coordinate with the Provincial Ethnic Committee to continue reviewing the program framework; finalizing the script and specific and detailed congress preparation plan; assigning specific responsibilities to agencies, units and localities in coordinating, supervising and supporting the congress preparation work; ensuring plans for personnel, content, script, logistics, cultural and artistic activities, emulation and rewards, etc.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested press agencies and localities to step up propaganda about the congress to create an exciting atmosphere among the people, focus on extensive propaganda, build special topics and pages to highlight typical individuals and groups in studying, working and producing in ethnic minority areas, contributing significantly to socio-economic development and strengthening the great national unity bloc in the province.
