Speaking at the opening of the program, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Le Cong Thanh said that this is a program with a series of very meaningful and practical activities in response to the Campaign to Make the World Cleaner in 2023 with content and topics on the environment and green development that are very topical, receiving the attention of many state management agencies, the press and businesses.

Deputy Minister Le Cong Thanh also said that all comments and suggestions in this program will be considered, accepted and studied by the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and units under the Ministry to serve the purpose of amending, supplementing and perfecting mechanisms, policies and laws on natural resources and the environment in general and policies to encourage and promote green development of enterprises in particular. The general goal is to protect the environment, use natural resources economically and effectively, proactively adapt to climate change, and contribute to the implementation of Vietnam's commitments at COP26, COP27, especially the Political Commitment on a Just Energy Transition between Vietnam and international partners (JETP) announced in December 2022.
“Each delegate attending today’s program, with their position, function and task, will be an ambassador to effectively spread and convey the message of transformation, green, clean and sustainable development. Each meaningful activity of yours will make an important contribution to the management of resources, environmental protection and adaptation to climate change,” shared the Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
Recognizing and appreciating the initiatives and efforts of the Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper and the Green Development Club, Mr. Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association also said that this is a very meaningful and practical series of activities with the participation of three parties: state management agencies, press and media, and businesses.
At the same time, the leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association also welcomed the idea and the very careful and thoughtful preparations for the birth and launch today of the Green Development Journalism Club towards Net Zero Carbon. This is a prestigious and reliable address that brings together journalists, reporters, managers, experts, scientists, businessmen and those interested in natural development, ensuring harmony between economic growth and environmental protection.
“The Board of Directors, Advisory Board and Club Members need to actively and proactively coordinate with experts, managers and businesses to implement effective and meaningful programs and activities, contributing to promoting the implementation of Vietnam's commitments at COP26. In addition, reporters and journalists following this field need to constantly learn, improve their professional skills, update their knowledge and related regulations to have good and unique press works, contributing to effectively serving the state management of natural resources and environment as well as accompanying and working side by side with businesses in green transformation, green and sustainable development”, Mr. Tran Trong Dung suggested.
Within the framework of the program, there was also a Seminar on Press and Media Accompanying Green Development Enterprises with the theme "Action towards Net Zero" with the participation of representatives of leaders of a number of press agencies and enterprises.

In this section, businesses shared their activities towards sustainable development, green production - friendly to the environment. At the same time, the role of the press and media in the development of businesses in bringing products and services closer to consumers was also discussed. Many opinions affirm that the press and media will always be a reliable companion and partner of businesses on the path of green development and work together towards Net Zero by 2050 according to Vietnam's commitment at COP26.
In addition, the Executive Board of the Green Development Journalism Club also officially launched the first "Green Development Journalism" Award to communicate, raise awareness and community responsibility for environmental protection, green and sustainable economic development.
