Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan attends the 2023 Emulation Covenant Summary Conference of the Emulation Cluster of the Central Highlands and Central Coast provinces

On March 29, in Quy Nhon city, the Emulation Cluster of the Central Highlands and Central Coast provinces held a conference to summarize the emulation covenant in 2023 and sign the emulation covenant in 2024.

Attending were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Acting President, First Vice President of the Central Emulation and Reward Council Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the Central delegation; leaders of 10 provinces in the Emulation Cluster of the Central Highlands and Central Coast provinces.

Speaking at the Conference, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements in socio-economic development and emulation and reward work of localities in the region; at the same time, she said that emulation and reward work is always a driving force to motivate and encourage the entire political system and people to successfully carry out the tasks set by the Party and the State in each year and each period. In the coming time, the provinces need to pay close attention to praising, rewarding and replicating advanced models of organizations. The rewards must not be done in a formal way but must be given to the right people, at the right time, creating a ripple effect in society.

The Acting President pointed out that the provinces in the region all have advantages in socio-economic development, and at the same time have a strategic position in terms of national defense and security. Therefore, localities need to pay attention in parallel, both to make breakthroughs in socio-economic development and to ensure national defense and security; to maximize the potential and advantages of each province. The provinces in the cluster need to cooperate and complement each other's advantages to create a common strength for the whole region.

Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan noted that the revised Law on Emulation and Commendation will take effect from January 1, 2024. The Government is currently issuing and will soon issue Decrees. During the transition, the Emulation and Commendation Board will provide guidance for localities to implement appropriately and in accordance with the law.

In 2023, the provinces in the Cluster will continue to develop comprehensively, harmoniously combining the focus on breakthroughs with sustainable development. The economic growth rate of many provinces will reach and exceed the set plan; investment in construction will be focused and effective. Key products of each province will be focused on development; industrial production value will grow; infrastructure systems will receive investment attention; the investment environment will continue to improve, and budget revenue in many provinces will increase compared to the assigned estimate. Social security work, care for cultural, medical and social life of the people will receive proper investment attention. The provinces in the Cluster will all successfully complete the targets of job creation and sustainable poverty reduction. The political security situation in the localities will continue to be stable. The work of grasping the situation, combat readiness regime, organizing defense drills, etc. will be maintained regularly, ensuring requirements.

The provinces have organized emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister and the provinces. Thereby, many new models, good practices, and practical methods have emerged; many advanced and typical examples, good people and good deeds with noble gestures, have a great influence on social life and have actively contributed to poverty reduction in the provinces in the Emulation Cluster...

At the Conference, leaders of the Central Highlands and Central Coast provinces attended the signing ceremony of the emulation covenant for 2024, witnessed by Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.

*Continuing her working trip to Binh Dinh province, on the afternoon of March 29, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and her delegation offered incense and flowers at Quang Trung Museum (Tay Son district).

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation respectfully offered flowers at the Emperor Quang Trung Monument and incense at the Tay Son Tam Kiet Temple to commemorate and express gratitude for the merits of Emperor Quang Trung and the Tay Son civil and military mandarins and generals in the struggle to build and defend the nation.

*In the afternoon of the same day, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the working delegation and provincial leaders visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese heroic mother Le Thi Dang (born 1936) in Tay Giang commune and war invalid Nguyen Thanh Phong (born 1939) in Phu Phong town, Tay Son district.

At the families she visited, Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan kindly inquired about the health and living conditions of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Le Thi Dang and wounded soldier Nguyen Thanh Phong and their families. She expressed her gratitude for the great contributions of wounded soldiers, martyrs, and heroic Vietnamese mothers who have devoted themselves to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party, the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, and the happiness of the people.

Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan requested local Party committees, authorities, and associations to strengthen education on historical traditions and continue to pay more attention and take better care of the material and spiritual lives of war invalids and families of beneficiaries.
