Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet - National Assembly Delegate, Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh province, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ninh province.
The house that was started to be built this time is for Mrs. Pham Thi Cup, residing in Dinh 2 village, Lien Vi commune. Mrs. Cup is a single-parent household, old, in poor health, currently living in a temporary house, with difficult living conditions. Support for the construction of a new house will help her have a solid place to live, stabilize her life, and at the same time demonstrate the community's concern for difficult circumstances in the area.
At the ceremony, with a compassionate heart and a spirit of engagement, Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet and the Executive Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Buddhist Sangha donated 80 million VND to Mrs. Cup's family to support the construction of a new house. The Border Guard Station of Hon Gai Port also supported Mrs. Cup's family with 20 million VND, demonstrating their responsibility for the community.
The groundbreaking program is a vivid demonstration of the effectiveness of the program “450 days and nights to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses” that is spreading strongly throughout the country; affirming the close connection between the government, the Front, religions and the armed forces in social security work, caring for the poor and the disadvantaged - so that no one is left behind in the development journey.
It is known that in the first 4 months of 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Yen town together with socio-political organizations; departments, branches and unions of the town have mobilized 1.02 billion VND to support the construction and repair of 13 houses for disadvantaged households, near-poor households and households with especially difficult circumstances in the whole town. Thereby, demonstrating profound humanitarian meaning, expressing the spirit of mutual love and affection, the morality of "the rich help the poor", contributing to the locality's effective implementation of social security work, towards the goal of completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area.
