On July 4, Mr. Tran Duc Nhat - Chairman of Tan Lap Ward People's Committee, Dak Lak province - said that he had set up a "hotline" to listen to the wishes and aspirations of teachers and schools.

"Hotline" for teachers to reflect and express

Mr. Tran Duc Nhat said that the ward currently has 17 educational institutions (12 public, 5 private), with 546 cadres, teachers, staff and nearly 8,800 students.

Up to now, schools have basically completed the work of mobilizing students, reviewing facilities, personnel and developing plans for the new school year.

According to Mr. Nhat, through understanding, school leaders reflected many difficulties such as lack of classrooms, teaching equipment, inadequacies in ensuring traffic safety and school food hygiene.

"The ward has accepted and committed to supporting the solution in the direction of creating a safe, healthy learning environment, suitable for local practices," he said.

To give teachers and schools a place to reflect and express their thoughts, Mr. Tran Duc Nhat announced the hotline number to receive feedback related to the education sector of the ward at 0905.480.006.

He affirmed that he will directly guide, direct, and handle arising issues to create the most favorable conditions for students and people.

There will be more "hotlines" in other areas.

The Chairman of Tan Lap Ward People's Committee said that after merging administrative units and switching to a two-level government model, the People's Committees at the commune and ward levels will continue to play the role of managing educational institutions from preschool to junior high school.

Therefore, as soon as he took office at the new Tan Lap Ward People's Committee, he determined that education is the top national policy and the number one priority task of the locality.

"Currently, the whole ward has more than 2,000 ethnic minority students, accounting for 23% of the total number of students. Besides, Tan Lap is a new ward that is both urban and rural, so many schools still lack facilities. These are issues that need attention to improve local education," said Mr. Nhat.

According to Mr. Nhat, the establishment of the "hotline" is first of all to listen to the thoughts and wishes of principals and teachers, and at the same time handle or transfer to competent authorities any arising problems according to regulations.

"The commune and ward levels are now more decentralized, so many pressing issues of the people such as land, environment, household registration, etc. all reach the grassroots government.

Education is the first area where we have deployed the hotline and will continue to expand to other areas. The only goal is to listen and resolve promptly and in accordance with regulations," Mr. Nhat shared.

He also said that this hotline model is not new, but inherited from the experience of Buon Ma Thuot City (old). The previous achievements will continue to be promoted in the new locality so that the work will be more effective, closer to the people and for the people.
