This year, the Military Technical Academy plans to recruit 540 students, an increase of 82 students compared to last year. Of these, 130 will be for overseas training, 5 for joint training, and the remaining 405 will be for domestic training.

Of the 405 domestic training quotas, there will be about 30 quotas for training high-quality military engineers in the two fields of Information Security and Information.

This year is also the first year that the Military Technical Academy applies admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University.

The three remaining admission methods are direct admission and priority admission, implemented according to regulations of the Ministry of National Defense; admission of excellent high school students, implemented with candidates who won first, second, or third prizes in math, physics, chemistry, and English at the provincial level or higher, or have international certificates such as IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, ACT; and consideration of high school graduation exam scores.

The Academy applies admission to the combination A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry) and A01 (Math, Physics, English). The admission score for the combination A00 and A01 is the same, the score is considered according to the North, South and male and female gender.

In 2024, the Military Technical Academy plans to train civil engineers. The academy will announce the enrollment when there are quotas for overseas training, 30 quotas for training at non-military universities. With the remaining quotas, the school will organize training in the field of information command and staff (information majors: Army, Navy, Air Defense - Air Force); and the field of cyberspace command and staff.

The two subject groups for admission are A00 and A01. The school uses the same standard score for both groups, the same score for candidates who are soldiers and non-military youth. The admission score is based on the quota for the Northern and Southern regions.

Candidates for admission are young people outside the military from 17 to 21 years old; active or discharged soldiers and citizens who have completed their obligation to join the people's police from 18 to 23 years old.

Five admission methods, including direct admission and priority admission according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; priority admission for excellent high school students according to regulations of the Ministry of National Defense; consideration of high school graduation exam scores in 2024; consideration of academic records; admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University.

The Engineering Officer School plans to recruit 251 students (an increase of 82 compared to last year) to train in engineering technical command, with admission combinations A00 and A01.

Of which, the school reserves 151 quotas for male candidates with permanent residence in the North; 100 quotas for male candidates with permanent residence in the South.

The recruitment subjects include young men outside the military and non-commissioned officers, soldiers, professional soldiers, workers and defense officials who have served in the military for 12 months or more (as of September of the recruitment year).

The four admission methods applied by the school are as follows:

- Direct admission, priority admission and admission of excellent high school students not exceeding 15% of the target.

- Admission based on high school graduation exam results from 55% of the target.

- Admission based on high school transcripts, not exceeding 10% of the target. Candidates for admission are high school graduates with an average score of 7.0 or higher for each year of high school, and a total score of 7.5 or higher for each subject in the admission group.

- Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by domestic universities does not exceed 20% of the target.

Admission requirements: Candidates must have a minimum score of 75/150 in the Hanoi National University's competency assessment test or a minimum score of 600/1,200 in the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test.

This year, the Military Medical Academy enrolls students in the following majors: Medicine (groups A00, B00); Preventive Medicine (group B00); University Pharmacy (group A00). The candidates are male and female nationwide, inside and outside the Army; through preliminary selection, meeting the standards set by the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Education and Training.

The Academy also plans to enroll students in the civil Medicine and Pharmacy programs (official announcement will be made in March 2024).

The Academy has two admission methods: direct admission, priority admission, admission of excellent students (no more than 15% of the target), admission based on high school exam results, admission based on the results of the Competency Assessment Test organized by domestic universities (no more than 20% of the target). With this method, the Military Medical Academy admits candidates with the results of the Competency Assessment Test of Hanoi National University from 75/150 points or higher; with the results of the Competency Assessment Test of Ho Chi Minh City National University from 600/1200 points or higher.
