Phu Yen joyfully looks forward to Independence Day

Celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, the people of Phu Yen commune are in a new mindset as the government apparatus has been operating stably. The joyful atmosphere welcoming Independence Day is everywhere in the villages.

National flags are hung along the streets of Phu Yen commune.

From early morning, many people gathered to clean up and plant flags on the streets. Ms. Lo Thi Bong, a member of the Women's Association of Buc sub-region, shared: This year, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, we have put aside all family chores, wishing to contribute to meaningful activities to celebrate Independence Day.

To celebrate Independence Day, the Commune's Communication - Culture Center, together with cadres, party members, union members, youth and people, urgently decorated, promoted and created a new and exciting look. Along the main roads, the commune installed more than 1,500 Party flags, national flags, nearly 300 red flags, 5 large panels (total area of ​​120 m²) and 10 banners along Highway 37. At the main activity locations, welcome gates and check-in areas were also arranged to serve the needs of sightseeing and capturing moments of the people and tourists.

The large panel cluster was replaced to convey a meaningful message about the nation's great holiday.

Banners and slogans were hung brightly throughout the village, and the national flag fluttered in front of every house. On the loudspeakers, songs praising Uncle Ho, the homeland and the country resounded, adding to the joy of the people. Mr. Nguyen Hong Ha, Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Phu Yen commune, said: The Department has advised the People's Committee of the commune to issue a plan to organize propaganda, art and sports activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and the "Tet Xip Xi" Festival of the Thai ethnic group. Thereby, creating a vibrant atmosphere among cadres, party members and people, while preserving and promoting the national cultural identity and developing attractive tourism products to attract visitors.

In the series of activities to celebrate National Day September 2, the Xip Xi Festival of the Thai ethnic group in Phu Yen commune will take place on September 1 at the historical and cultural relic of Dinh Chu. The festival consists of two parts: The ceremony part, with incense offering and Xip Xi worship activities; the festival part recreates the Thai cultural space, demonstrating traditional crafts of weaving, brocade weaving, and cake making; organizing folk games such as walking on bamboo bridges, stilts, dragons hatching eggs, throwing con, throwing pao; Thai xoe performance; gong and drum beating; displaying and introducing local agricultural products.

Staff of the Communication - Culture Center of Phu Yen commune, along with the Youth Union and people, planted the National Flag on the streets.

The Thai ethnic culinary competition, gathering 16 teams from villages and sub-regions in the commune, introduced traditional dishes with fresh local ingredients, creative preparation methods, and beautiful presentation. Each team also presented the meaning of the dishes, promoting the unique culinary quintessence of the White Thai people, Phu Yen commune during the Xip Xi Tet holiday.

On the evening of September 1, Phu Yen commune will organize an art program with special singing and dancing performances praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the renewal of the homeland and the cultural identity of the Thai, Muong, Mong and Dao ethnic groups. The program will be performed by artists from the Commune's Media and Culture Center, and volunteer art troupes from villages, schools, agencies and units.

Women's Union members of villages and sub-regions participate in cleaning up along main roads.

Currently, the artists and extras are actively practicing and preparing special performances, promising to bring a meaningful program, creating a heroic and joyful atmosphere for the people. In addition, the commune also organizes a "Culinary Destination" with the participation of local restaurants and businesses. Each unit will introduce ethnic dishes and typical products to serve tourists and promote the image and cultural identity, while contributing to the economic development of ethnic minority areas.

This year's National Day holiday lasts 4 days (from August 30 to September 2), creating conditions for everyone to reunite with family, meet friends and relatives. We believe that the exciting activities in the locality will bring a meaningful holiday, arouse the pride of the independent autumn and the motivation to strive for a prosperous and happy life as Uncle Ho always wished.
