The delegation visited the concentrated safe vegetable production model in Yen My commune, Thang Long Rice Vermicelli Production Service Cooperative (Thang Long commune); learned about the land donation movement for rural roads in Van Hoa commune; inspected mining activities at soil and rock mines in Tan Phuc and Tuong Son communes.

Despite many difficulties, with the determination and consensus of the Party Committee, the government and the people, the socio-economic situation of Nong Cong district has achieved many remarkable results. In 2023, the district ranked 10th in the province in terms of production value scale and 5th in the province in terms of production value growth rate. In the first quarter of 2024, the district directed the people to harvest more than 2,889 hectares of winter crops in 2023-2024 and plant more than 13,300 hectares of spring crops in 2024. At the same time, continue to deploy high-tech agricultural production models, develop value chains in production. Direct specialized departments and localities to effectively implement disease prevention and control for livestock and poultry; maintain stable area and value of the fisheries and forestry sectors.

Regarding the task of building new rural areas, up to now, 28/28 communes of the district have met the new rural standards, 5 advanced new rural communes, 2 model new rural communes. The criteria of new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas have been maintained and improved in quality. The whole district has 20 OCOP products.

According to statistics, there are 18 mineral exploitation enterprises in the district. The inspection and rectification of mineral exploitation activities are strictly implemented by the authorities at all levels. In particular, the district has promptly handled, corrected and imposed administrative penalties on units violating the provisions of law in mineral exploitation activities.

Working with the People's Committee of Nong Cong district, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang highly appreciated the results achieved by the Party Committee, government and people in the area in recent times.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that although many results have been achieved in agricultural production, there are not many large-scale production models with high economic value in the area; sustainable production and consumption chains have not been built. There are still some limitations in the work of building new rural areas and managing mineral exploitation activities.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Giang suggested that Nong Cong district focus on building and replicating effective agricultural production models, supporting people to apply high technology in production and developing sustainable linkage chains. At the same time, it is necessary to manage well the seed production facilities, manage production materials to improve the efficiency of agricultural production; support OCOP products to improve quality, innovate designs and increase market access to improve economic efficiency, create more jobs for local workers.

For the New Rural Construction Program, the district focuses on implementing the New Rural criteria to soon complete the 2024 goal of having 1 more model New Rural commune, 2 advanced New Rural communes, 6 model villages and 6 more OCOP products with 3 stars or more.

Regarding mineral exploitation activities, the district strengthens the management of mining activities to ensure the right purpose and progress, focusing on environmental protection to limit impacts on people's lives and activities. Local authorities at all levels coordinate with functional agencies to strictly handle violations of the law in mineral exploitation, contributing to ensuring security, order and labor safety.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also assigned tasks to relevant departments, branches and units to pay attention to removing difficulties to speed up the construction progress of the Khe Ngang - Bot Dot dike; support Nong Cong district to implement clean water criteria in building new rural areas; support connections to bring Thang Long rice vermicelli products to foreign markets.
