On the morning of December 6, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front To Thi Bich Chau, along with the National Assembly Delegation - Unit No. 8 and the Delegation of the 10th Ho Chi Minh City People's Council - Units 25 and 26, had a meeting with voters of Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City.
The meeting with voters was held to inform about the results after the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly and the National Assembly and People's Council deputies continued to listen to opinions and suggestions from local voters.
Many major decisions are about to be implemented.
On behalf of the National Assembly Delegation and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Delegation, delegate Truong Trong Nghia, member of the National Assembly's Judicial Committee, said that at the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly, the investment policy for the North-South high-speed railway project was approved, with a preliminary total capital of 1.7 million billion VND, equivalent to 67 billion USD, to be completed in 2035.
According to Lawyer Truong Trong Nghia, this is a major policy, demonstrating the high determination of the Party, State, National Assembly and Prime Minister, expected to be implemented with public investment capital.
The entire North-South high-speed railway is 1,541 km long, starting at Ngoc Hoi station (Hanoi) and ending at Thu Thiem station (HCMC), passing through 20 provinces and cities. The most special point that people and voters are interested in and expect is the modern railway line with a newly invested double-gauge of 1,435 mm, with a design speed of 350 km/h, a load capacity of 22.5 tons/axle; there are 23 passenger stations and 5 freight stations.
"Our railway has been operating since the French period, with a gauge of 1 meter, so the disadvantage is that it cannot run fast and cannot ensure the transport of large quantities of goods. However, with a gauge of 1435 and a speed of 350km/h, people and voters can travel to Nha Trang in just over an hour; to Hanoi station in just about 5 hours," said delegate Truong Trong Nghia.
In addition to the North-South high-speed railway, the National Assembly postponed the completion of Long Thanh airport until the end of 2026. The reason given by the Government is that the architectural competition period is prolonged; the pandemic affects the progress of technical design, mobilization of foreign experts,...
According to delegate Truong Trong Nghia, the investment in Long Thanh International Airport has been awaited by the people and voters nationwide for a long time. Because this is not only a national airport, but also a regional airport.
Resolve "hanging" projects
At the voter contact conference, voters Pham Van Bao and Nguyen Thi Mau (both residing in Hamlet 1, Le Minh Xuan Commune) indignantly said that the 'suspended' Sing-Viet project is one of the local pain points, but the complaint settlement process is prolonged, causing great damage and impact to the people.
"The project has been abandoned for 27 years and is now a wasteland. The project is still only on paper. Although the resettlement area has completed site clearance, the urban area has not yet completed compensation. People are suffering because the land cannot be mortgaged or sold, and the investor is nowhere to be seen," voter Bao expressed.
Regarding this "suspended" project, many voters of Binh Chanh district requested the National Assembly Delegation - Unit No. 8 to consult with the authorities to resolve the complaints of the people. At the same time, the Fatherland Front and the People's Council have a program and plan to inspect and supervise the implementation of the above project, not to let it drag on any longer.
At the "suspended" project of An Ha Residential Area (Pham Van Hai Commune, Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City) with a scale of 26.51 hectares, many voters reported that the project has lasted for nearly 10 years and still has not agreed on a plan to pay land use fees, along with many problems that have caused the project to drag on, affecting the rights of many people.
Regarding the problems related to the delay in issuing pink/red books in the area, voters Tran Van Phuong and Le Thi Tam (Pham Van Hai commune, Binh Chanh district) hope that the authorities of Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City will consider and resolve them soon for the people. Because, currently, the city level has given strong direction, the districts must also be proactive to resolve the problems for the people.
Speaking to receive voters' opinions, delegate To Thi Bich Chau - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front spent a lot of time sharing with voters about the process of resolving the problems at the Sing - Viet project. Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has assigned a Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to directly direct the resolution. In addition, the project is also related to a case that is under trial, so voters are requested to wait for the results of the resolution by the competent authorities and related functional agencies.
Regarding the "suspended" projects that are still stuck, delegate To Thi Bich Chau requested the People's Committee of Binh Chanh district, within the local authority, to pay attention to thoroughly resolving the voters' recommendations raised at the Conference.
At the same time, voters' opinions related to major issues of the city and the country will be received by the National Assembly Delegation - Unit No. 8 and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Delegation of the 10th tenure - Units 25 and 26, and sent to competent authorities for further consideration and satisfactory resolution.
