This is one of the rare documentary works that explores the pain of war and the journey of national reconciliation from parallel perspectives from both sides of the battle line, creating an honest, emotional and humane voice about the wounds of the past and the healing efforts of the present.
The film recreates the haunting yet everyday stories of veterans and their loved ones, who still carry with them the loss, separation and doubt after the war ended more than half a century ago.

" The Journey to Reunification is not only a documentary but also an emotional conversation between people who were once on opposite sides of the battle line, now sitting together to listen, understand and heal," shared a representative of the production crew.
An important highlight of the film is the story of Binh An People's Cemetery (formerly Bien Hoa Cemetery), which was once considered a "sensitive" area in the history of war. The film records the journey to approach witnesses, veterans and relatives of those who remained here, regardless of the winning or losing side, to recount memories with a spirit of reconciliation and humane commemoration.
The choice of the Binh An People's Cemetery as a symbol of tolerance represents a major step forward in approaching history not to judge, but to understand, to remember, and to forgive. In the post-war context, it opens up a global perspective on the concept of unity, not just on the map, but in the minds of each person.
The production team spent months researching, building trust, and convincing the characters to participate. This process was not just about making a film, but a journey of accompanying, listening, and healing the emotional wounds of many families.
