On the afternoon of August 4, in Ho Chi Minh City, the movie Chot Don had a special premiere for the media and some guests.

At the event, the crew representative confirmed that they used AI technology to replace Thuy Tien's entire role.

Director Namcito said: “AI is not a temporary solution, but a serious investment decision to preserve the emotions of the work.”

According to the representative of the unit in charge of the film's AI technology, this "virtual character" was created entirely, not just the face.

More specifically, this is the first time this technology has been applied in a movie with a very long duration.

One of the issues that has received much attention is whether using AI to completely replace Thuy Tien's image in the film has any legal implications?

According to the film's legal representative, this replacement was anticipated and carefully considered by the producer so as not to violate any regulations. The contracts signed between the producer and Thuy Tien are governed by the Civil Code and the Cinema Law, allowing the producer full rights to use part or all of Thuy Tien's images, or even not to use Thuy Tien's images in any case.

The contract also contains a binding clause regarding maintaining professional ethics and image. Therefore, in this case, Thuy Tien is violating the producer, not the producer violating her.

“Thuy Tien has no legal authority to file a complaint against the producer, but the opposite can happen,” the legal representative emphasized. At the same time, he said that the producer is willing to wait for a complaint from Thuy Tien or her management company, because that would be a legal solution to resolve responsibilities with all related parties.

Closing the deal revolves around the story of Mr. An - a delivery man looking for the parents of an abandoned child. He accidentally meets Linh, a livestream queen, who is burdened with work and family pressure.

Amidst the ambiguity, change, and pressure of society, Linh and Mr. An gradually sympathized and helped each other, creating new enthusiasm to bring about big winning "Closing Deals!" sessions.

The film opens in theaters nationwide from August 8.
