Rural transport development contributes to improving people's lives

Chan Mong commune was established on the basis of merging three communes: Chan Mong, Yen Kien and Hung Long. This is a milestone affirming the political determination, solidarity, innovation and comprehensive development of the entire Party and political system. As a commune in a large rural area, investment in building transport infrastructure is considered the "backbone" to promote socio-economic development, connect commodity production and improve people's lives.

Rural transport development contributes to improving people's lives

People of Chan Mong commune voluntarily donated land and contributed working days to pour concrete on internal roads.

Before the merger, the Party Committees and authorities of Chan Mong, Yen Kien and Hung Long communes focused on leadership and mobilized diverse resources to invest in building rural traffic infrastructure. By 2025, the rate of solid traffic in the area will reach an average of 78.8%, achieving the target set by the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, contributing to a clear change in the appearance of the countryside, creating favorable conditions for trade, transportation of goods, production development and people's travel.

The total investment capital for basic construction of the commune reached over 186.2 billion VND, most of which was for transport infrastructure. Projects such as Au Co road and technical infrastructure of Nam Doan Hung Industrial Cluster have been attracted, not only connecting residential areas in the commune, but also linking with neighboring areas, promoting the circulation of agricultural products such as early-ripening lychee, grapefruit, red-fleshed dragon fruit and caged fish. Thanks to that, the rural economy has shifted towards commodities, with an average income of over 48 million VND/person/year. These results not only contribute to the construction of new rural areas but also create a foundation for social stability, the poverty rate has decreased to 3.44%, and the quality of people's lives has been significantly improved.

Despite many positive results, the development of rural transport in Chan Mong is currently facing many difficulties. After the merger, the commune has a large area of nearly 90km2 and a population of over 38,000 people in 67 residential areas, requiring a higher level of management while resources are limited and the administrative apparatus is being completed.

According to statistics, the whole commune has over 266km of rural roads, of which 44.7km are commune roads, nearly 87km are hamlet roads and over 105km are alley roads, the rest are intra-field roads. Some roads after being invested and put into use have seriously degraded, affecting people's travel, posing potential traffic safety risks. For example: Route DH54 from National Highway 2 to the old Van Don commune; route from Provincial Road 318 to Au Co Road; route from Provincial Road 323 to Tien Phong area...

Rural transport development contributes to improving people's lives

The inter-commune road, more than 3km long, has seriously degraded, affecting people's travel and trade.

Taking us to the inter-commune axis road, more than 3km long, connecting from National Highway 2 through the gate of Tieu Son Primary School and the Commune People's Committee, comrade Nguyen The Vinh - Head of the Commune Economic Department said: "Although it is the main road of the commune and has been paved with asphalt, the surface is now severely damaged, peeling, and many "potholes" have appeared; the drainage system on both sides of the road is not guaranteed, every time it rains heavily, it is difficult and unsafe for people, especially students, to travel."

One of the reasons affecting the development of rural transport in the commune in recent times is that the site clearance for some projects has been slow, becoming a major "bottleneck". Therefore, the Party Committee of Chan Mong commune has identified the development of transport infrastructure as one of the important breakthroughs in the 2025-2030 term.

The commune will focus on building infrastructure, prioritizing investment in rural and intra-field transport systems, to serve production and connect with key economic projects. Along with mobilizing all resources, the commune will promote investment attraction by improving the investment environment, coordinating rapid site clearance and publicizing planning to create trust for investors. Promote the application of science and technology in infrastructure management and construction, combined with digital transformation to improve monitoring efficiency and ensure project quality.

With clear orientations, Chan Mong commune is moving towards a synchronous rural transport system, contributing to building a sustainable, rich and civilized locality. That is the foundation for economic development, demonstrating the solidarity of the Party and the people in the commune on a new journey to achieve the core goal of improving the quality of people's lives.
