3 candidates discovered using AI to cheat on high school graduation exams, according to the Ministry of Public Security

According to Major General Tran Dinh Chung, after information about suspected leaking of math questions for the 2025 high school graduation exam spread on social media, the Ministry of Public Security coordinated to investigate and verify the source of the information. Thereby, the Ministry of Public Security determined that 3 candidates at 2 examination councils used AI (artificial intelligence) applications to commit cheating, and these candidates all admitted their wrongdoings.

Among them, two candidates used their phones to take a photo of a part of the exam question, then sent it to the AI ​​application to ask for help. The remaining candidate used a tiny camera attached to his shoulder to take a photo and sent it to someone else to ask for help. These are two different groups of candidates and do not affect the security and safety of the entire exam, Mr. Chung emphasized.

"In the coming time, we will continue to consolidate records and documents to clarify further, then based on the nature and extent of the consequences, we will strictly handle them according to regulations," Mr. Chung affirmed.

The Deputy Director of Department A03 also stated that in the coming time, the use of AI for fraud will become more and more sophisticated, requiring synchronous solutions to prevent and stop it. To deal with this problem, relevant parties will continue to apply higher technology to combat and prevent the use of AI for fraud, while continuing to strengthen coordination and proposals between parties.

Major General Tran Dinh Chung also suggested that all parties should propagate and educate students and related people to prevent this problem from the beginning.
