Dassault Systèmes and NIC promote the development of Vietnam's semiconductor industry

(NLDO)- France's leading technology group Dassault Systèmes and the National Innovation Center (NIC) organized a forum to promote the semiconductor ecosystem.

The Business Leadership Forum was organized by the leading French technology group Dassault Systèmes (stock code DSY.PA) in collaboration with NIC to promote the semiconductor ecosystem in Vietnam, aiming at the goal of technological autonomy by 2027. Taking place on August 19 in Hanoi , the Forum gathered 70 senior leaders from government agencies, technology enterprises, domestic and international academia.

Dr. Vo Xuan Hoai, Deputy Director of NIC, delivered the opening speech.

The event is held in the context of Vietnam promoting its semiconductor industry development strategy, with the goal of becoming a regional chip design, manufacturing and testing center by 2027. This forum is a concrete step following the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Dassault Systèmes and NIC from 2024, aiming to promote digital transformation and strengthen the innovation ecosystem.

In his opening speech, Dr. Vo Xuan Hoai, Deputy Director of NIC, affirmed that the semiconductor industry plays a key role in the digital transformation and development of Vietnam's digital economy . He emphasized that the forum is an opportunity to connect resources and share experiences from leading countries, supporting Vietnam in realizing the orientations in Resolution 57-NQ/TW and Decision No. 1131/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the development of strategic technologies.

The forum focused on developing the semiconductor ecosystem through AI-based innovation, addressing industry challenges and applying virtual twin technology. Other key topics included data-driven manufacturing and factory-to-factory co-optimization (FTCO), along with strategies for developing a future-ready workforce, with insights and regional best practices to enhance Vietnam’s global competitiveness.

Mr. Samson Khaou, Vice President of Asia Pacific region of Dassault Systèmes, said

“We are proud to join NIC in our journey to foster the innovation ecosystem in Vietnam,” said Samson Khaou, Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific, Dassault Systèmes. “Our digital twin solutions and global expertise will make a significant contribution to the capacity building of Vietnam’s semiconductor industry.”

The forum had the participation of many prestigious speakers such as: Ms. Marie Keller, Acting Representative, French Embassy in Vietnam; Mr. Le Xuan Que, Technology Director of Viettel IDC; Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Xuan Mai, Senior Advisor of Kim Long Motor Hue,... and senior experts from Dassault Systèmes in China, India, Japan, and Korea.

According to the plan, Vietnam aims to train 50,000 semiconductor engineers by 2030, creating a human resource foundation for the high-tech industry. The partnership between Dassault Systèmes and NIC is expected to contribute to realizing this goal, promoting the development of an innovative, future-ready workforce.
