Prince William's reaction to Meghan Markle's constant imitation of Princess Diana

Behind closed palace doors, Prince William is "seething" over Meghan Markle's attempts to emulate his late mother's style.

Many believe the turning point came when Markle posted a photo of herself wearing the sweater on Instagram — a clear reference to a similar look Princess Diana wore in 1996.

An insider told Radaronline.com: "Meghan and her husband Prince Harry have certainly upset some royals! Her attempts to emulate Princess Diana's style must have annoyed William. Her actions have caused some backlash. He can be sensitive when it comes to anything to do with his beloved mother. It's clear that William wants Meghan to let Diana rest in peace. By trying to link herself to Diana, Meghan is inviting suspicious looks and accusations of questionable taste. Poor William may be angry, but he can't stop her."

Another problem for William is that Harry and his wife are once again bringing Diana into their business ventures.

In the first episode of the 2019 Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan , a photo of Diana appears in Prince Archie's room. "Who's that? Say hello to Grandma. It's Diana," Meghan says while holding Archie.

While Meghan Markle insists that her references to her late mother-in-law come from a place of affection, many sources believe that the use of these moments in advertising her lifestyle.

Her latest Netflix series, With Love, Meghan , has been met with criticism and forced to come up with a new name for her fashion brand As Ever. The rebranding on Meghan Markle's website comes just days before her new series With Love, Meghan airs.
