This afternoon (April 14), Road Management Area III, Vietnam Road Administration organized traffic diversion, not allowing cars to pass through Deo Ca. Vehicles choose 1 of 3 routes to travel in the North - South direction and vice versa. Traffic diversion time is from the afternoon of April 14 until the incident is resolved, ensuring safety conditions for traffic on National Highway 1A in the Deo Ca area.

Currently, the Bai Gio railway tunnel on the North-South railway line, passing through Dai Lanh commune, Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province, is experiencing subsidence from the top of the tunnel arch and is continuing to subside, with complicated developments. The Bai Gio railway tunnel intersects below with National Highway 1A in the Deo Ca area, affecting the safety of railway and road works and traffic safety in the area. The railway management unit is implementing a plan to overcome the subsidence problem in the tunnel.
While waiting for repair, to ensure the safety of railway and road works and traffic safety for road vehicles, the authorities have stopped all vehicles (except 2-wheelers) from circulating on National Highway 1A through Deo Ca Pass, and all types of cars must travel through the Deo Ca road tunnel.
However, some vehicles such as fuel trucks, trucks carrying toxic, flammable, explosive, dangerous goods, oversized vehicles... are not allowed to pass through the Deo Ca tunnel.
Road Management Area III announced the traffic diversion plan, for road vehicles not allowed to travel through Deo Ca tunnel. These vehicles choose 1 of 3 routes. The 3 routes have in common that vehicles traveling on National Highway 1A when reaching the intersections with the horizontal National Highways will turn right in the West - South direction.
Specifically, at the intersections with National Highway 19C in Tuy Phuoc district, Binh Dinh province; intersections with National Highway 25 in Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province; intersections with National Highway 29 in Dong Hoa town. Vehicles will follow the National Highways to the Southwest, then follow Truong Son Dong road, to the intersection with National Highway 26, they will continue their journey to the East to the intersection between National Highway 26 and National Highway 1A in Ninh Hoa town, Khanh Hoa province, then continue their journey to the South. Vehicles traveling from the South to the North will move in the opposite direction.

Mr. Le Quang Vinh, Director of Phu Khanh Railway Exploitation Branch, said that currently, landslides continue inside Bai Gio tunnel, and the ban on road vehicles traveling on Ca Pass is to reduce vibrations, limit damage, and quickly restore the incident.
"The landslide, both soil and rock, has been concreted for too long. Currently, we have worked with local authorities, the Traffic Police Department (C-08), and the Ministry of Public Security to ban all types of cars from traveling on Ca Pass Road to reduce pressure on the tunnel lining, because this tunnel is located right below National Highway 1A," said Mr. Vinh.
