"This was indeed a great match. Both Nam Dinh and Cong An Ha Noi teams played with different styles. I found that the domestic players of the two teams were highly skilled and performed better than the foreign players," former coach of the Vietnamese national team Henrique Calisto shared with Tuoi Tre Online .
At Thien Truong Stadium, Hanoi Police Club won the 2024 - 2025 National Super Cup after defeating Nam Dinh with a score of 3-1. Mr. Calisto said he was deeply impressed with Nguyen Dinh Bac, who scored the final goal for the home team with a dangerous long-range shot from outside the penalty area at the end of the match.
"I can recognize the faces of some current national players. I really like player number 9 even though I don't know his name (Nguyen Dinh Bac - PV). He looks very young. When I see him playing football, I remember the image of Le Cong Vinh, because he has the same qualities as my old player," said Mr. Calisto.
The former Portuguese strategist continued: "With this number 9 player, the Vietnamese team will have a bright future. His career will also gradually develop."
In addition to Dinh Bac, Mr. Calisto was also impressed with Nguyen Quang Hai and the two goalkeepers Tran Nguyen Manh and Nguyen Filip. "The goalkeeper of the Hanoi Police Club plays very well with his feet," he said.
Mr. Henrique Calisto is currently the President of the Portuguese National Coaches Association. During his working trip to Vietnam, he had a meeting with the President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan, about cooperation between the two football teams.

The former strategist born in 1953 also said that he regularly follows the situation of the Vietnamese national teams. He is impressed with the team's remarkable progress in recent years in the region and continent, with the presence of generations of talented young players.
"The current Vietnam team is number one in Southeast Asia. Compared to my time, the team now has many more conditions to develop. I support Vietnam naturalizing players or adding foreign-born players to the national team. I also talked to Mr. Tuan that if anything is needed, I am ready to support," said Mr. Calisto.
Mr. Henrique Calisto was born in 1953, and was the coach of Dong Tam Long An Club and the Vietnam national team from 2001 to 2012. He was the first coach to help the Vietnam national team win the Southeast Asian championship (AFF Cup 2008).
Many of his students later became famous players and made certain contributions to the development of Vietnamese football.
