As guest judges in episode 4 of the program Cai Luong Academy , People's Artist Trong Phuc, People's Artist Bach Tuyet, famous singers Chau Thanh and Thanh Hang continue to choose the contestants to continue.

Before becoming famous with Cai Luong, artist Trong Phuc was a singer of modern music. Because of that, he also had the experience to adapt between genres.

According to People's Artist Trong Phuc, the most important thing is to learn and understand so that when switching from modern music to Cai Luong singing, there will be no problems. He hopes that the contestants of the program will learn skills that can be applied to their roles.

People's Artist Trong Phuc said that his switch to being a Cai Luong actor was completely by chance. The artist jokingly calls it a "side job". He did not study Cai Luong professionally, but had the talent since childhood. People's Artist Trong Phuc also believes that the profession's ancestors chose him.

He compares himself to a bee gathering honey because he will take a little sweetness from each place to prepare for himself. However, he emphasizes that he must turn what he learns from his predecessors into his own “capital”, and not copy the original. What is applicable will continue to be developed in more depth, and what is not suitable will stop.

“I am very perceptive. When I listen to an artist sing, I will list the best things and then choose to learn from them. I also jokingly call it “stealing” (laughs). I am an actor but I have to learn a little from Ut Bach Lan, Bach Tuyet, Ngoc Giau, Dieu Hien, Le Thuy… I take the best and not collect everything because I will accidentally turn myself into a copy. If so, the audience will no longer need to listen to me sing,” he confided.

According to him, learning new and interesting things must happen every day. Even when he has been a judge for many programs, he still has to learn.

The artist added that in addition to studying music theory and expertise, teachers in the past focused on moral education for their juniors. That is also what he hopes young people will absorb and implement well. Talking about the next generation, People's Artist Trong Phuc hopes that they will have a clean lifestyle, good morals... but still be comfortable to work and be creative. He hopes that the next generation will take the original elements of Cai Luong to highlight and make it more beautiful, rather than cutting them out.

In the program, People's Artist Trong Phuc had the opportunity to recall memories with the late Meritorious Artist Vu Linh. This was a senior and also someone who gave him many impressions and experiences on stage. People's Artist Trong Phuc played many leading roles in cai luong plays. However, when acting with Meritorious Artist Vu Linh, he had to play a supporting role.

“The image of Mr. Vu Linh has always been very big in my mind. He is a senior, a teacher, a monument. When he sang on stage, I stood in the wings watching to learn every step, expression… At that time, I thought that acting with him, I could play any second role or any female role.

I still remember him asking: "Why does Phuc keep watching me sing?". I wittily replied: "If you sing well, I will watch, why would I watch if you sing badly? I watch to learn from you" , People's Artist Trong Phuc recounted.

In his memory, Meritorious Artist Vu Linh always cared for and looked after his colleagues. Normally, Meritorious Artist Vu Linh was very easy-going and cheerful, but when on stage, he was very strict and demanding. He often reminded and encouraged everyone.

“Every night after singing, the two of us sit down and talk and share a lot. He is strict but has a good reason to do it so that everyone can be better, work can go smoothly, and the audience can be satisfied. That is why everyone understands and feels comfortable,” said People’s Artist Trong Phuc.
