Noo affirms that he always respects all musicians regardless of generation.
Sharing with the press, Noo Phuoc Thinh said he had planned to remain silent, but "the issue has now gone too far, so Noo has to speak up."
Noo Phuoc Thinh affirmed that he did not sing for free nor use Do Hieu's works indiscriminately.
"Up to now, according to the principle, each show organizer must request a license from the Department of Culture and pay copyright for the songs performed in the program through VCPMC - Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection. This center has been authorized by musicians, including Do Hieu, to receive royalties. Do Hieu also confirmed that he received money for the songs that Noo performed from this center. Noo also pays royalties to other musicians through the center for each performance."
The 8x singer said that he bought exclusive rights to each song for 2 years. After the expiration date, whether to renew the exclusive rights or sign the copyright or not is an agreement between the musician and the singer. A month ago, Do Hieu discussed with his team about the renewal, specifically through manager Tuan Khanh.
At present, The Remix 2016 Champion shared that he has no intention of continuing to exclusively use these songs. When there is a need, the male singer will discuss with the musician and fully respect the regulations on performance copyright of the Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection.
In addition, Noo Phuoc Thinh only signed performance rights with digital music companies, the remaining copyrights are signed by the musician himself with these units.
He shared that he understands that the relationship between musicians and singers is symbiotic, so he always respects the musicians who work with him. He understands that the relationship between both sides must have trust and love in order to send products to the audience. Therefore, musicians must also respect singers.

Can't find common ground
Previously, on his personal page, musician Do Hieu announced that he "banned" Noo Phuoc Thinh from performing and using a total of 8 songs he composed in the past 10 years, including Mai mai ben nhau, Gat di nuoc mat, Hold me tonight, Dung nho lai, Den voi nhau la sai, Cause I love you, Xin dung chua tay, Nhu phut ban boi because the two sides could not find a common voice.
Among these, "Gất đi nước mật" is the biggest hit of Noo Phuoc Thinh's career.
Gặt đi nước mắt was released in December 2014. For nearly 10 years, Noo Phuoc Thinh has performed this hit song many times on stage.
According to musician Do Hieu, Noo Phuoc Thinh has the exclusive right to use "Gất đi nước mật" for 2 years, meaning until December 2016. However, after the exclusive period expired, Noo Phuoc Thinh did not renew the contract or negotiate or agree on copyright fees.
For many years, according to Do Hieu, Noo Phuoc Thinh only contacted for permission to perform for big shows, ignoring many small shows at venues such as bars, clubs, lounges...
In addition, the singer also sold these works on a number of online platforms that were not part of the original agreement without notifying the author.
"Gất đi nước mắt" is the biggest hit of Noo Phuoc Thinh's career, composed by musician Do Hieu.
Musician Do Hieu continued to "add fuel to the fire" when he posted a status praising Dong Nhi as a professional and emotional singer.
The online community quickly realized that this was Do Hieu's move to refer to Noo Phuoc Thinh.
After musician Do Hieu's post, on the afternoon of October 29, Noo Phuoc Thinh also suddenly posted a story full of hidden meaning when sharing: "Lack of money to buy drugs, so you go crazy?"
Not long after that, Do Hieu continued to have a story that was said to be a response to Noo Phuoc Thinh on his personal page. Specifically, the male musician wrote: ''Yes, if you wake up, you will pay the royalties for many years, otherwise, stop singing for me, thank you''.
Although they did not mention each other by name, many people speculated that Noo Phuoc Thinh and musician Do Hieu's stories were "insulting" each other. Most netizens believe that both need to clarify copyright costs as well as confront each other directly instead of "insulting" each other on social networks, creating an unprofessional image and losing sympathy in the eyes of fans.
Musician Nguyen Van Chung, the "father" of the hit song Mother's Diary, also mentioned the scandal between musician Do Hieu and Noo Phuoc Thinh on livestream, attracting a lot of attention.
Musician Nguyen Van Chung spoke out in support of musician Do Hieu when Noo Phuoc Thinh used 8 of Do Hieu's songs for free for many years.
Nguyen Van Chung shared: "Do Hieu has negotiated with Noo Phuoc Thinh's manager, and the male singer's manager has confirmed that they will not buy, according to what Do Hieu shared with me. That's why Do Hieu made that announcement to let everyone know that at this time Noo Phuoc Thinh is not allowed to sing Do Hieu's songs anymore.
The story of Noo Phuoc Thinh and musician Do Hieu is similar to my case last year, if you have been following. That means the musician completely did not feel the affection from the other side for him, to be honest, they even felt disrespected by the words and sentences that made the musician think that the other side was asking for money. For the musician, that was extremely unpleasant.
I myself was like that in the past, for many years I did not ask about copyright and if no one else offered to buy the exclusive rights to my work to reproduce it, I would not ask in my entire life. Now someone offered to buy the exclusive rights to my song and I politely asked the other side if they wanted to continue to extend the contract or not, they decided not to extend so I sold, and I was accused of asking for money. Why do I demand my own rights but I am accused of asking for money?
Noo Phuoc Thinh was honored at prestigious Vietnamese awards from Mai Vang, Lan Song Xanh to Cong Hien.
The male singer also had a turning point in his career when he became the Champion of The Remix season 2.
He also became the representative of Vietnam to attend the Asia Song Festival in Korea.
After that, Noo Phuoc Thinh received the Best Asian Artist Vietnam award presented by Mnet Asian Music Awards.
