On the morning of June 14, the Vietnam Journalists Association of Hanoi held a conference to review activities in the first 6 months of the year, directions and tasks for the last 6 months of 2024; commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in professional activities and association building in 2023; and award commemorative medals for the cause of Vietnamese journalism.

The capital's press agencies do a good job of propaganda.

Regarding the activities of the City Journalists Association in the first 6 months of 2024, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Journalists Association Kieu Thanh Hung said that in the first 6 months of 2024, the Standing Committee, Executive Committee of the City Journalists Association and the Editorial Boards of press agencies led and directed the Inter-Association and Journalists Association to actively encourage members to propagate the correct orientation and political tasks of the Party, State and key programs of Hanoi City.

The press agencies of the capital have done a good job of propaganda, especially propaganda on Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; deploying and thoroughly implementing the Resolutions of the Party Central Committee (term XIII); the working programs of the City Party Committee, term XVII; the goals of the socio-economic development program of the capital in 2024, notably Resolution No. 07-NQ/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee on the policy of implementing the Investment project to build the Ring Road 4 - Hanoi Capital Region...

Along with that, Hanoi press organized many propaganda campaigns for major holidays and anniversaries of the country and the capital such as: Celebrating the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024); 94th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi Party Committee (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2024); 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024); 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024...

Press agencies and affiliated Associations have successfully completed the tasks and work programs of the Association, and members have seriously implemented the 10 Codes of Ethics for Vietnamese Journalists and the Rules for Using Social Networks for Journalists. In particular, 100% of members have participated in the movement "Building a cultural environment in press agencies" and "Criteria for cultural press agencies and culture of Vietnamese journalists".

Along with implementing political tasks in propaganda work, the Association regularly disseminates to members of the Inter-Associations and Journalists' Associations of press agencies Directive 43/CT-TW dated April 8, 2020 of the Central Party Secretariat on "strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new situation", implementing Directive 34/CT-TU of the Hanoi Party Committee on "strengthening the leadership of the City Party Committee and Party committees at all levels over the activities of the City Journalists Association in the new situation".

In professional activities, the City Journalists Association has coordinated with the City Emulation and Reward Board to organize and receive press works and articles about good people and good deeds.

In 2024, the Organizing Committee received 301 press works from 18 Central and Hanoi press agencies; 2,086 articles from 38 districts, towns, and units of the City submitted to participate. As a result, the Jury unanimously proposed that the Organizing Committee award prizes to 42 authors and groups of authors with outstanding press works and articles winning awards in 2024 and no special prizes.

For the 2023 National Press Awards, the City Journalists Association sent 60 press works selected from the Editorial Boards, Newspaper and Radio Associations, including many works that won press awards from the City Party Committee and the City. As a result, Hanoi press had 4 works in the Final round, including 1 work winning the B prize and 1 work winning the Encouragement prize.

Practical contribution to the common activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association

Speaking and launching the emulation campaign for 2024-2025, Chairman of the Hanoi Journalists Association To Quang Phan stated that in recent times, the Hanoi Journalists Association has gathered and united its members with the capital's press agencies to actively propagate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's and Hanoi's laws and policies; at the same time, there have been many innovations and innovations in professional activities and the Association's work, making practical contributions to the common activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

Emphasizing that 2024-2025 is a pivotal year, the final year of the 2020-2025 term of the 7th Congress of the Hanoi Journalists Association, the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association, to complete the assigned political tasks, especially the practical programs and activities of the capital's press towards the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), on behalf of the leaders of the Hanoi Journalists Association, the Chairman of the Hanoi Journalists Association called for and launched an emulation movement to achieve achievements to celebrate the major holidays of the country and the capital in 2024-2025 to all reporters and journalist members of the Association's branches and sub-branches.

The emulation movement focuses on a number of key contents: continuing to promote the successful implementation of the 13th Resolution of the Party and the programs and Resolutions of the 17th City Party Committee; promoting the Study and Follow of Ho Chi Minh's Thought, Morality and Lifestyle; encouraging and motivating people and sectors at all levels to effectively implement the socio-economic development programs of the country and the Capital in 2024-2025...

Continue to implement Directive 43/CT-TW dated April 8, 2020 of the Central Party Secretariat on "Strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new situation"; Directive 34/CT-TU dated August 31, 2020 of the Hanoi Party Committee on "Strengthening the leadership of the City Party Committee and Party committees at all levels over the activities of the City Journalists Association in the new situation" in conjunction with the good implementation of the Press Law (amended), 10 regulations on professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists; Rules for using social networks of journalists.

Launching intensive propaganda campaigns for major holidays of the country and the Capital; completing well the key tasks of the Association; organizing and participating in coordinating the organization of press awards and competitions launched by the City Party Committee and People's Committee; organizing field trips, training courses, professional development, press forums, etc.

At the program, 11 units with achievements at the Hanoi Giap Thin Spring Press Festival 2024 received Certificates of Merit from the Hanoi People's Committee; 9 collectives with outstanding achievements in the 2023-2024 work year and 18 individuals with outstanding achievements in professional activities and association building received certificates of merit from the City Journalists Association; 18 members were awarded the commemorative medal For the cause of Vietnamese journalism in 2024; 10 members working at Hanoi press agencies were awarded membership cards of the Vietnam Journalists Association.
