Ho Chi Minh City is speeding up the construction of many important infrastructure projects to reach the finish line in time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification. At the same time, the city is also starting a series of new projects to improve urban quality and people's lives.
On the afternoon of March 6, at the Ho Chi Minh City socio-economic press conference, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board) informed about the projects that will be started, approved and completed before the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

Accordingly, in March, the Traffic Department will start the My Thuy intersection construction project (phase 3) including the construction packages of the Ring Road 2 overpass, right branch, and the construction of the Ky Ha 3 bridge, right branch, belonging to the My Thuy intersection project .
At the same time, approve the Ring Road 2 project , section 1 (from Phu Huu bridge to Vo Nguyen Giap street); approve the Ring Road 2 project, section 2 (from Vo Nguyen Giap street to Pham Van Dong street); complete the work of placing stakes and handing over the compensation and resettlement support project boundary of the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project through Ho Chi Minh City before March 31.
In April, the Transport Department plans to start a series of mine clearance packages for the Moc Bai - Ho Chi Minh City expressway project , the Ring Road 2 project , phase 1, and the Ring Road 2 project, phase 2.
Also in April, it is expected that the A, D, and E branches of the HLD intersection (belonging to the Ring Road 3 project through Ho Chi Minh City) will be completed to connect Nhon Trach bridge (belonging to component project 1A) to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway; and the HC1 tunnel of the An Phu intersection project will be completed and opened to traffic.

In particular, the entire route connecting Tran Quoc Hoan - Cong Hoa and connecting to Tan Son Nhat Terminal T3 will be opened to traffic; the construction project to upgrade and expand Duong Quang Ham Street will be completed (after the electricity sector relocates all electric poles before March 31) and the construction project to build the road to the Buddhist Academy of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, phase 1, will be completed and opened to traffic.
Also during this period, it is expected that component projects 2, 3, and 4 of the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway will have their feasibility study reports approved.
In May, the Traffic Department plans to inaugurate the construction of the Hang Bang Canal section (Mai Xuan Thuong Street to Van Tuong Canal) in District 6 and launch the tree planting ceremony on May 19.

In addition to traffic projects, previously, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy chaired a meeting on the progress of projects celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
The city will have 7 projects completed by April 30, including: Construction of the new Ton Duc Thang Museum (inaugurated on January 3); construction of Phu Tho circus and multi-purpose performance theater (expected to be handed over to the Department of Culture and Sports on March 10); project to renovate and embellish the Cho Quan Hospital prison camp relic, where comrade Tran Phu sacrificed his life (in operation since April 24, 2024); project to build a new Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital; construction of a new Thu Duc Regional General Hospital; construction of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (campus 2) and upgrading and renovating Binh Chanh - Binh Tan Martyrs' Cemetery.
In addition, 6 projects will start construction on April 30, including: Renovation and repair of Phu Tho Sports Stadium; renovation and repair of Phu Tho Swimming and Diving Club; renovation and repair of Hoa Lu Stadium; construction and renovation of the City Cemetery (Lac Canh); construction and expansion of the belt road and the road up and down to the City Martyrs Cemetery.
Currently, the Civil and Industrial Department is completing the approval of the construction design to be implemented after the basic design. It is expected that in March 2025, the procedures for selecting contractors for construction, supervision and commencement of the above projects will be completed.
