This is one of the contents in the Decision on assigning socio-economic plan targets for 2024 recently issued by the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

The leading group is electronic equipment and components with a turnover of 680 million USD; the second is construction materials with 550 million USD; the third is textiles and garments with a turnover of 500 million USD; the fourth is wood chips with a turnover of 200 million USD; the fifth is seafood with a turnover of 140 million USD; the sixth is shoes and sandals of all kinds with a turnover of 100 million USD.
The production of electronic equipment and components is a sector that has grown strongly in Nghe An's export basket in recent years. In 2024, Nghe An aims to produce 580 million electronic components in the area.
This comes from the province's recent positive investment attraction orientation and results. In two consecutive years (2022, 2023), Nghe An attracted a total of nearly 2.5 billion USD in FDI capital, of which more than 1.6 billion USD was reached in 2023 alone.
With the orientation of prioritizing high-quality FDI capital flows, aiming for green growth and sustainable development, the province in the North Central region is rising to become the new "capital" of electronic component manufacturing in Vietnam by attracting many technology "giants" to invest.
Currently, Nghe An is the only locality in the country that gathers all 5 technology giants: Foxconn, Luxshare, Goertek, Everwin and JuTeng. It is forecasted that the total export turnover of electronic equipment and components of Nghe An will continue to increase in the coming years when the projects are fully operational.
In 2023, for the first time, Nghe An's total export turnover exceeded the 3 billion USD mark, reaching 3.11 billion USD; of which goods exports reached about 2.5 billion USD. In 2024, Nghe An aims to export goods to reach 2.75 billion USD.
Export is one of the targets that Nghe An has exceeded since the first year of the 2020 - 2025 term. During this term, the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress set an export target of 1.765 billion USD by 2025. However, since 2021, Nghe An has exceeded the target, reaching more than 2.4 billion USD, and in 2022 it reached 2.54 billion USD, and in 2023 it reached 3.11 billion USD.
In 2022, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued the Export Development Project for the period 2021 - 2025, in which the goal is to strive for a total export turnover of goods of 4 billion USD by 2025.
