Nghe An Provincial People's Court will open an appeal trial of the case of Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung, former Director of the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education (GDNN - GDTX) of Hung Nguyen district, for the crime of "Abusing position and power in performing official duties".
This is a trial that has received a lot of public attention recently. Ms. Le Thi Dung’s family said that there are 7 lawyers who have agreed to defend Ms. Dung at the appeal trial.
Previously, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee also proposed to ensure the independence of the court according to its jurisdiction, the judge and the jury to try the case independently, and comply with the law. The trial of the case according to the appeal procedure must comply with the law, the right person, the right crime, be rigorous, ensure fairness, objectivity, and be reasonable, creating consensus in society.

As reported by VTC News , on April 7, 10, 11, 17 and 24, the People's Court of Hung Nguyen District (Nghe An) held a first-instance trial of Ms. Le Thi Dung, former Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Vocational Training of Hung Nguyen District (Nghe An) for the crime of "Abusing position and power in performing official duties".
According to the indictment, during her work, Ms. Le Thi Dung caused damage to the state budget of nearly 44.7 million VND.
After many days of trial, the People's Court sentenced the defendant Le Thi Dung to 5 years in prison. In addition, the People's Court also requested to collect more than 44.7 million VND from the defendant Dung to return to the Hung Nguyen District Continuing Education and Vocational Training Center.
After the court announced the verdict, defendant Dung filed an appeal against the entire first instance judgment.
