The education and training sector achieved many important results in the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered a speech at the conference.

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son stated that with the attention of the Party and State, close direction of the Government, close coordination of central ministries and branches, the attention and direction of Party committees and local authorities, the efforts of teachers and managers at all levels, and the efforts of students, the education sector has completed the 2024-2025 school year with many important results.

Institutional and policy building has made breakthrough progress. The Ministry of Education and Training has advised the National Assembly to promulgate the Law on Teachers, a resolution on universalizing preschool education for preschool children from 3 to 5 years old, and a resolution on tuition exemption and support for preschool children and high school students. The 2025 high school graduation exam is the first exam under the 2018 general education program to be organized safely, seriously, and objectively.

The quality of key education continues to be affirmed with high results in international competitions, achieving 33 medals of all kinds, including 12 gold, 14 silver, and 7 bronze. The international Olympic and international science and technology teams maintain the top 10 countries among 113 participating countries and territories. For the first time participating in the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad, Vietnam entered the group of 4 countries with the highest achievements. This result affirms the capacity and position of Vietnamese students in the field of science and technology, demonstrating the effectiveness of the work of discovering and nurturing talents to serve the development of high-quality human resources.

Human resource training, especially human resources in high-tech industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and Industry 4.0, is being strongly promoted. The 2024-2025 school year marks the synchronous implementation of the 2018 general education program in all grades, from grades 1 to 12 nationwide, completing the cycle of curriculum and textbook innovation at all levels.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated and commended the important results achieved by the entire education sector in the 2024-2025 school year, contributing significantly to the overall achievements of the country. The Prime Minister requested the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training and the entire education sector to continue to focus on thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing the main viewpoints and orientations: Students are the center and subject; teachers are the driving force; schools are the support; families are the fulcrum; society is the foundation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that it is necessary to focus on transforming the status and tasks of the education and training sector into the common tasks of the entire political system, the entire people, and the entire society; continuing to shift from equipping knowledge to developing comprehensive capacity of learners. All thinking, methodology, approaches, and problem solving of the sector must continue to be strongly innovated, in the direction that all citizens must have equal access to education and training, especially the disadvantaged, in remote, isolated, border, island, and ethnic minority areas.

“The education and training sector needs to develop more advanced, modern, and practical programs and curricula. Learning must go hand in hand with practice; real learning, real exams, real talent. Focus on thorough preparations for the new school year, in which the opening ceremony must be solemn, cozy, neat, effective, and joyful,” Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized.
