Long Bien Bridge is no longer a stranger to the people of the capital. Built from 1898 to 1902, the bridge was the first steel bridge across the Red River, connecting Hoan Kiem District with Long Bien District. With a length of more than 2,290 m, including 19 steel girder spans placed on 20 main pillars, and nearly 900 m of approach bridges, Long Bien Bridge was once a traffic artery and a symbol of the longevity of the riverside city.

“I often come here in the late afternoon. Every time I stand on the bridge and watch the sunset, I feel relieved. The wind blowing from the river is cool, carrying the smell of alluvium and wild grass from the sandbank... Hanoi is beautiful in a very different way - not noisy but very peaceful,” said Nguyen Manh Ha, 33, who lives on Tran Nhat Duat Street.

“I have heard from friends about the beauty of Long Bien Bridge at sunset, but when I saw it with my own eyes, I was still surprised by how beautiful and poetic it was. If I have the chance to return to Hanoi, I will definitely come here again,” said Lien Huong, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City.
