The program attracted the participation of more than 200 youth union members who are members of Community Digital Technology Groups in Ha Long city, with sharing around the topic of digital capacity and issues of enhancing digital capacity for youth.

In the context of the world shifting strongly to digital platforms, Vietnam is also implementing national digital transformation (DDT) drastically, marking a strategic turning point. This process is not only significant at the national level but also plays a key role in promoting the country's breakthrough development, especially in the era of globalization and the 4.0 Industrial Revolution.

At the seminar, speakers shared and discussed many contents related to the digital transformation process in Vietnam as well as other countries in the world; especially the role of young people in promoting digital transformation and applying IT and digital technology in all areas of life. Speakers also proposed many practical solutions to improve digital capacity for young people to meet the requirements of the new era; at the same time, they shared about the risks and challenges that young people may encounter when accessing current technological advances.

Digital capabilities - the key to unlocking the digital future

At the seminar, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Information and Communications Nguyen Thi Oanh said: In Vietnam, digital capacity is still a relatively new concept, with many different understandings and assessment criteria.

According to UNESCO's definition, digital literacy is the ability to access, manage, understand, combine, communicate, evaluate and create information securely and appropriately through digital technology, serving simple to complex tasks, including entrepreneurship.

In other words, digital competence is not only the ability to proficiently use modern digital technologies, but also includes essential skills to work, study, socialize and entertain... safely and effectively in the digital environment.

The speakers participating in the program all agreed that digital capacity plays an extremely important role in the development of union members and young people, especially in the context of digital transformation. This helps young people adapt to the constant development of society in the digital flow.

Secretary of Ha Long City Youth Union Nguyen Tuan Thang shared: " Improving digital capacity for young people is not only a trend but also an urgent need for each individual and the whole society to adapt to the digital age."

Ha Long City youth today is a dynamic and technologically sensitive generation; 100% of young people own mobile phones, and the Internet system is always guaranteed, helping them connect with the world, use digital technology platforms, as well as hone skills and form digital competencies.

Ha Long City Youth Union pays special attention to organizing activities to help young people participate in cyberspace safely. One of the notable activities is the campaign "Digital Vaccine - Cyber ​​Safety", with the goal of promoting propaganda to raise people's awareness of safety in the cyber environment.

The campaign focuses on producing innovative digital media products, updating information on the risks of malware infection, personal information disclosure, fraud, spam calls, spam messages, as well as the risks of exposure to harmful content and online bullying.

In addition, businesses also play an important role in enhancing digital capacity for young people.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tu, Deputy Director of MobiFone Quang Ninh informed: "MobiFone has been implementing many programs to support young people in accessing information technology, such as providing preferential packages and organizing creative competitions on digital platforms."

Digital competency for community digital youth

At the seminar, the Youth Union of the Ministry of Information and Communications also coordinated with the Ha Long City Youth Union to launch the Electronic Handbook and music video “Community Digital Youth”. These are two creative media products made with the desire to summarize the necessary skills for the youth in the CNSCĐ Team to be equipped to carry out the task of popularizing community digital technology effectively and sustainably.

The 116-page handbook is creatively designed with vivid and eye-catching images. The content is divided into three main topics: (1) Mission: Pioneering Youth in Digital Transformation; (2) Youth living “digitally”; (3) Digital skills for youth of the Digital Transformation Team.

The music video “Community Digital Youth” has new lyrics based on the familiar song “August Lantern Procession”, a song associated with many people’s childhood memories. The vibrant music is newly arranged to suit the tastes of young people. The lyrics have been adapted to clearly express the role and mission of the Community Digital Youth Group, especially the role of young people. This helps viewers easily access, understand and remember the content, thereby spreading the message more effectively.

The products received positive reception from delegates and youth union members participating in the program. These products were posted on the media channels of the two units, as well as the digital media platforms of MobiFone and Coc Coc Browser, contributing to spreading the message widely to the community.

Within the framework of the program, delegates also had the opportunity to visit, experience and interact with exhibition areas introducing digital transformation activities and products of MobiFone Youth Union; Youth Union of the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology; Quang Ninh Telecommunications Youth Union - VNPT; SHB Bank Youth Union; and the digital transformation bookshelf for youth of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Information and Communications./.
